I would go for the Yamaha as well.

The Philips is claiming 1000w power output from a unit weighing 3.36 kg with no mention of what level of distortion that output is measured at (THD).

The Yamaha is claiming half that power output from a unit weighing 8kg and they do give the THD figures, which are not unreasonable.

In short, the Yamaha performance figures are believable, the Philips aren't

The Yamaha channel speakers weigh twice as much as the Philips ones. The ratio of cone/diaphragm weight to that of the rest of the speaker is relevant to sound quality. The higher the ratio, the better.

The Yamaha sub-woofer is also noticeably heavier than the Philips one.

The Philips system weight is 15.95 kg and there are 8 speakers. The Yamaha system weight is 21.2 kg and there are 6 speakers.

Yamaha have a decades long reputation for being serious about sound quality and their musical instruments are well regarded. Philips have no reputation for dedication to sound quality whatsoever.
