    Hi all,

any advise out there on travel from Balbriggan to Sutton? A friend is starting work in Sutton soon - they are just delighted to be getting back to work after a spell unemployed so will take the job and get there by hell or high water! but we were just seeking some advice on best way to get there?
Looking for advice on public transport (know that it will have to be a combination of train abd bus, or two buses, or even train and bike!) but also because some of the time she may have to work shifts also driving routes for when she is working outside of the public transport timetable.

anyone go this way regularly? how long does it take by car? public transport?

If anyone is doing this journey and would be interested in a car pool situation also PM me!

    cheers everyone!

Depending on where in Sutton the job is located and the time they start work, they could get the train from Balbriggan to Howth Junction, then change for a DART to Sutton.
Also, the time they finish in the evening could also determine if this is a viable option because some of the evening trains from Dublin to Balbriggan skip Howth Junction, so she would have to head into Connolly on the DART from Sutton.

Best of luck to your friend in the new job.

I work in Baldoyle, and being in for 0700, 15.15, or 23.30, it only takes twenty minutes by car. The new junctions at the m1/m50 roundabout have eased alot of pressure there, so its straight down m1 then its n32 at the m50 roundabout. from baldoyle, just keep going straight to the sea and turn right. Its around 5-7 minutes further to sutton cross. On the way home, come back the exact same way. The n32 never has traffic backed up anymore since the m1/m50 improvements finished.

**Starting after 7 would be heavier getting down the m1. Best bet is pull off at 1st swords ramp (Donabate) take the by-pass to the pavillions, turn left up the swords road, right at the T onto the malahide road and then left on to the n32 at the ClareHall / Hilton junction. That way is only maybe 5 minutes longer, and you dont really hit a lot of traffic that way either.

    Thanks for the replies all.
Looks like generally the train times are gonna suit, although some shifts she may be really early for! better than late though! For the shifts where the trains don't suit/aren't running a few mates have agreed to help with lifts/loan of car where possible until she gets on her feet and can afford a little car again.

    thanks for all the help!
