Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

VW Polo Problem/Question

    VW Polo 1litre 2001

An annoying problem that is so intermittent i dont bother bringing it to a mechanic as im not sure if the fault will reoccur there & then.

    Anyways

From time to time if im driving along and need to turn on the full beam headlights the car will try to cut out but not fully cut out-if that makes sense.
Its like the extra drag of electricity to the lights is almost enough to overwhelm the battery and cut the power to the engine...(All the warning lights will come on momentarily and back off again when this happens)

    On a related note, (I hope:o)
After this has happened i turn the car off as normal when i get to where im going, however when i turn the ignition on again it wont start the first time, the trip meter (trip odometer) will reset to zero and at the 2nd attempt the car starts fine.

Sometimes i have had the above cause the central locking to act up as well.
    ..........................................................................................................

I suspect an electrical fault somewhere to be causing this.

I got the car serviced recently and a new battery fitted, also got a computer hooked up and a couple of faults reset.

The problem has occured since the service a month or so ago.

Any suggestions or ideas would be much appreciated
