Hey I'm trying to convert a video to play on my iPod but whatever settings I use, the video ends up out of sync

here's the video details (copied from MediaInfo)

    Video
    ID : 0
    Format : MPEG-4 Visual
    Format profile : Advanced Simple@L5
    Format settings, BVOP : Yes
    Format settings, QPel : No
Format settings, GMC : No warppoints
    Format settings, Matrix : Custom
    Muxing mode : Packed bitstream
    Codec ID : XVID
    Codec ID/Hint : XviD
    Duration : 2h 12mn
    Bit rate : 1 905 Kbps
    Width : 720 pixels
    Height : 304 pixels
    Display aspect ratio : 2.35:1
    Frame rate : 25.000 fps
Original frame rate : 24.000 fps
    Resolution : 8 bits
    Colorimetry : 4:2:0
    Scan type : Progressive
    Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.348
    Stream size : 1.76 GiB (91%)
    Writing library : XviD 1.2.1 (UTC 2008-12-04)

I've bolded the part that I think is the problem. I haven't seen any other video that had the 'Original frame rate' property before in MediaInfo

I've tried 4 different converters, including Super.. which is usually able to achieve any desired output settings.

Any ideas on how to get around this? Thanks in advance

Have you tried any video converter?

Yeah, just gave that a try. Same issue, it ends up out of sync on whatever Frame-Rate setting I use

    give FormatFactory a try.
That framerate issue is definitly a problem too. It would be common to drop a framerate, to reduce file size, from 25 to say 15. but to increase from 24 to 25 doesnt make any sense for trying to get a smaller file for your iPod/iphone.

Keep your settings similar to this:
    Video Format: MP4, MOV, M4V
    Video Size: up to 640x480
Video Bitrate: up to 1.5Mbps for H.264, or 2.5Mbps for MPEG-4
Audio: AAC up to 160Kbps, 48kHz

Handbrake is also a handy converter.

It might not be a video issue, it may have something to do with the audio rate. You may be inadvertently converting it from 44100Hz to 48000Hz or vice versa, which will put the audio out of sync with the video.

    Thanks guys

Here's the audio details.. I've been using the stated values when converting. It's the strangest thing.. I tried Handbrake and there's no audio whatsoever when it finishes encoding. I can't even stream it to my PS3 via a media server.. the video works fine but no audio.. I guess it just isn't meant to be!

    Audio
    ID : 1
    Format : MPEG Audio
    Format version : Version 1
    Format profile : Layer 3
    Codec ID : 55
    Codec ID/Hint : MP3
    Duration : 2h 5mn
    Bit rate mode : Constant
    Bit rate : 192 Kbps
    Channel(s) : 2 channels
    Sampling rate : 44.1 KHz
    Video delay : 880ms
    Stream size : 173 MiB (9%)
    Alignment : Split accross interleaves
Interleave, duration : 42 ms (1.05 video frame)
Interleave, preload duration : 500 ms

I should say the video and audio are perfect when I play the original video on my PC
