Hi i have an Aqua 8 water pump which used to work fine however lately it seems to not cut out so often...ie it more often than not stays running after closing a tap.
I dont appear to have any obvious leaks...is there a usual problem like a pressure sensor that can get sticky/faulty over the redundant winter period??
Its equipped with an aqua A20 pressurized expansion tank if that helps.
    Cheers,
    Marty.

check the pressure in the expansion tank , try let it up or down a couple of psi . The pressure switches do fail from time to time .

I had the same problem. I took the whole thing apart and cleaned the plunger for the pressure switch. It worked fine again for about a year. Agter that I replaced the pump unit as it comes with a new pressure switch.

    Cheers lads,
Yeah i looked @ a few exploded diagrams of the pump last night online and i actually ordered a pressure switch for it.(that could be a week or two coming though)

In the meantime im going to do as kol said and strip it down and clean it all up...ill see too what pressure the pump is driving into the expansion tank...if its over 1.5 bar it should be cutting out.(cut out pressure for the pump)

Will let ye know how it goes.

    Arty,

The pump is running because you have a leakThe pump is either activated by drop of pressure or water flow. When no water is being used yhe longer the pumps runs for the bigger the leak. I run a small firm specialing in locating underground water leaks. < phone number and advertising removed>

Not always so . I specialise in Campers . And the switches DO fail on occasion, without any leaks or water flow.

Normally the switch gets sticky. If you tap the pump head while its running it will normally unstick itself. Not a long term fix!!
