    Hi all,

I'm expecting a revo 3610 to be delivered soon and I have big plans to wipe off all the stuff that comes with it and install both windows (the pre-installed OS) and ubuntu afterwards. Unfortunately, I don't really know how to do that, so maybe someone could help me with a few questions:

    1) Is the whole plan a disaster waiting to happen?
    2) If not, how many partitions should I put in my harddrive and of what type?
    3) Once the computer is wiped clean, which OS should be installed first?

Any answers (or extra information) is greatly appreciated.

    M

If it comes with Windows pre-installed, then I don't know why you would wipe it.

Keep Windows as is, and just use an Ubuntu LiveCD or LiveUSB. Boot off of it, and follow the steps, it'll give you all the choices regarding partition sizes etc, and then do its thing.

Then you'll have a dual boot setup. Ubuntu nowadays is highly geared towards this kind of thing so its fairly straightforward and easy to follow.
