Power's been gone since about 2pm Tuesday. It was back just long enough to charge my laptop a bit and now it's gone again.

I don't know if any of you have ever been desperate enough to consider doing a jigsaw by candlelight, but it's a low hour, let me ****ing tell you.

I just noticed it now, after reading the 2nd post!

    Doubblin SS

It's happening all over, so no.

Flicker might be an option though.

Guys over in the weather forum are reporting increase in wind, might be the load from the wind farms kicking in

Wouldnt be affecting the entire country mate. It's acting like a trip and reset on nearby powerlines.

Would it be safe to plug out things?

OK, well my next baseless theory is that the electricity is starting to freeze before it enters my house... should i leave a tap running? :)

Maybe you should have charged batteries for something else :pac:

The lights are not flickering in Kerry as they were never lit in the 1st place.

I had thought nothing of it till now, bastarding electric better not go. I hate that.
That seems pretty odd that it's happening all over the country.
Maybe the national grid is being battered? (Dunno what the weather is like in that area.) My friend in Cavan said from Cavan town to Ballyjamesduff to Virginia is being batter and is under about 5 feet of snow. Been snowing there since 7 o clock sunday evening

Back home for Easter and we've lost all the English channels and Rte is all fuzzy and flicks off intermittently:( Really reminds me of the 80s.
My analogue was the same. Sky was flickering a tad too.
Mine is gone now. Great. Battery on my phone is nearly dead too.
    So is Cavan. :pac:

Mine was flickering earlier but it's all grand now.

The ESB faults line usually has pre-recorded messages if there is some sort of widespread problem. I called it out of curiousity not long ago but there was no announcement, just went straight through to the call queue. I was less than interested in waiting to ask someone where in Ireland has no leckie so I hung up:)

Flickering happened a good bit before 11pm and also within the last hour. Rural Louth. I also saw the odd flicker or two in TCD at 8.
