I many moons ago had a tasco 6-24x50

Could not use @24 mag as parallax was rubbish.
it had a white look when you looked through it, very poor clarity
I used a SWAROVSKI after that , same spec, a million times better

But if you are on a budget a s/h good brand is the way to go;)
SWAROVSKI Schmidt and bender, Nikon, Nightforce, Weaver, leupold etc

    i had a tasco 6-24 x 40 on my .223,

    It broke my heart!

it was only ever useful on the lower mag settings. also poor at night time i found it very hard to make out a fox clearly under a good lamp.

Finally had to get rid of it when it stopped holding zero and i put a second hand 3-9 x 40 on it. way more clear and very good at night.

i'd say save your money for something a bit better.

    Jap,
    A few questions
    1) What round are you shooting?
    2) What distance are you shooting out to
    3) What time do you shoot
    4) At what are shooting, paper, tasty animals, or pests?

If you are shooting factory 22, notoriously bad ammo, then a Tasco is fine, especially if your shots are within 100 yards.

The Tasco does have issues. Most notably are the optics during sun-up or sun-down, you can get, as someone else mentioned, a frosting effect.

One other problem with cheap scopes is that they often jump clicks - cannot hold zero.

You should not put a regular rifle scope on a airgun that has a spring. One shot could destroy a regular rifle scope.

With that said, if you are getting a cheap Tasco, like the ones here
    http://www.walmart.com/ip/Tasco-Varmint-6-24X42-Scope-with-Mil-Dot-Matte/5684935
    or illuminate
    http://www.walmart.com/ip/Tasco-Varmint-6-24-x-42-Scope-with-Illuminated-Mil-Dot-Matte/5684934
then a few euro will not hurt.
Jumping from a Tasco to a Swarovski is a big leap, in quality and price.
Best scopes for the money: Burris and Redfield.
I would go with a Burris Fullfield. A small step in cash and a giant leap for optics. Check out ebay.ie

I have a Tasco like the one above and it is great. I do not push the magnification and it is well able to handle foxes within a field. However, it is not the glass I use in the field.
