Any chance you can provide the make and model of that board? I'm pretty sure its a socket 939, but it could be socket 754 too. Which isn't a big deal as most of the cpu coolers come with universal mounting kits so they can fit most of the platforms.

Have you got temperature monitoring software so your certain the game crashes are from over heating? From the specs you have posted it appears it is a Socket 478 setup, you should be able to find a few CPU fans that still come with fittings for 478. See here. It will say in the product description what sockets the fan will fit. You could also pick one up on adverts.ie handy enough I'd say

yes im sure i have a speedfan program that monitors it before im even in game its at 50C and is at 80C+ when the computer shuts down..

i know the fan fits this kind of bracket, i just need to be sure of the correct 1. only thing is, none of those fans look like they would fit the bracket but im probably wrong.

This doesnt seem right at all, looks like the fan is borked and isnt spinning as fast as it should be?

It seems to correspond with whatever temps these are

Did you use hwmonitor to get these readouts?

nah i took all my reading off SIW - System Information for Windows the i got off this site http://www.gtopala.com/ basically the same thing. but i can download that other program and post the results.

Its hard to tell what TMPIN2 is, it could be the ambient temp in your case or it could be the northbridge? It may not be connected to anything and they are just spurious results?

  • Registered Users Posts: 116 ✭✭vorbis^cs

i dont know anything about northbridge or most of them stats..

i would just like to know from the details i gave use, if anyone can you tell me the type of fan i need or link me to some some fans that would suit my motherboard?
even tho this maybe not be the problem.

    thanks for the help
