Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

fùck that. It has to be a good thing that the predominance of fouling/injuring players out of games is a thing of the past imo.

What? I said not even the Liverpool supporting commentator could defend Liverpool, the ref had a good game, Insua could easily have got a 2nd yellow for the penalty and no idea how Agger didn't get booked for his non stop whinging.

lol at the Rafa out comments sent in! ha ha

"tyical Rafa changing the team from the weekend after out best performance, he should be sacked"

emmmm, the only change was cause Maxi isn't eligable.

"go one up & then get all defensive, typical Rafa, he has to go"

nothing to do with getting sent down to 10 men away from home you ****ing spa

"if Rafa doesn't win the Uefa Cup, he has to go" from Geraldine O'Donohue

Geraldine, less texting & more cooking, ****ing wimmin

The refereeing was shocking throughout the game, and I have to say it's the first time I've thought of a bit of "buying" of officials. However, all three big decisions were spot on I reckon.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,263 ✭✭✭yom 1

Could have been a lot worse. 2-1 is a result we can come back from
    Refereeing was disgraceful.
Babel is an idiot. I hope he gets a b0llocking from the players.
Insua was woeful, stupid tackle for the first peno aswell.
Gerrard started well but was anomynous after Babel was sent off.
Torres was kicked all over the pitch.....looked knackered for his chance
    Kuyt had a great game.

Mascherano was immense tonight........fcuking outstanding performance from him.......and we needed it from him too

and you were also awarded an offside goal, swings and roundabouts

How was it offside? remember Kuyt didn't interfere with play, so do tell me how it was offside?

Do you understand the offside rule?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,213 ✭✭✭Mrmoe

Very disappointing result but still in with a great chance. I can see us scoring at home but the problem I think will be in defence and whether we concede or not. The refereee and his assistants were a joke. Torres was being kicked all over the place all night, soft decisions went for Benfica and against Liverpool. Benfica have some righ handy players though.

Torres should file a complaint with the police after that. Insua simply is out of his depth the poor lad.

Look I thinks its clear enough what we have here.

What we have here is a "lets yank the Liverpool suppoters chains they are feeling a bit sore" committee visiting us once again. (Its amazing how you guys never show after a nice hearty win like the Sunderland match thread for example - don't worry we don't miss you)

What are you on about, he in no way interfered with the keepers vision and in no way blocked a defender or made a movement towards the ball.

You are so wrong, but anyway keep trying your pathetic behaviour.

Lol, i haven't commented on a liverpool loss for a long time.

    stop with the generalisation

even if Kuyt was interfering, there was no daylight between him & the line, he was ahead, but there has to be daylight, there wasn't.

Who is in this committee you speak about? Also you do have some sense of self importance if you think we won't be talking about that game after the decisions that were mentioned throughout the thread.

Who for left back next week ? Carra?

Agger will play there. Soto and Carra in the middle. The left wing can be filled by Reira Yossi. Its not a disaster, merely a set back. Did Liverpool ever win a cup in a straightforward fashion?

see this muppet? this is how you do it. really old school right here with ntlbell. see the way hes purposely acting dumb just to further rile up the blood after tonights defeat. effortless presentation that leads to many followups on how he can annoy people after.

hes an old master is our bell

NTL is so good he gets me riled up when commenting on a Liverpool defeat

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,638 ✭✭✭Iago

Frankly I thought both the goal that was given and the Torres chance that was ruled against were both offside. Of course the issue is that they've managed to make such a balls of the offside rule that next week and identical goal will be disallowed and the week after an identical goal will be given.

An away goal and single goal defeat away from home when down to 10 men for 55 minutes in a European quarter final really isn't a bad result. I think Liverpool are more than capable of winning next week, but they'll need to be more clinical in front of goal and a lot tighter at the back.

Are you suggestion early sending offs don't change games?

Is your brain really not capable of understanding that the Sending off was before the 2 penalties. Do you get that?

The sending off was first, then the 2 penalties.

How else can I put it?

First there is a sending off, then the game changes, then around 30 minutes later Benfica score.

Is that getting into your head? probably not, but I will always try to improve people.

Because Iago tries to get his point however incorrect across in a reasonably impartial manner, he is certainly wrong, but at least trying to add to debate.

Yes the legitimate goal happened before the ridiculous sending off, you should post more than a sentance and try and get your point across because to anyone with functioning brain that 1 sentance doesn't actually have a point.
