Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Babel: always looking to cut back on his right and shoot. Must be a very easy player to do your homework for with a bit of video review.

I have always been of the belief that he needs to play on the other side if we are to persist with him. He would be far more effective if he could use his pace to drive for the line and cross rather than having to cut back all the time.

    Their crossing is superb.

Where have you been for 3 years?......people have calling for him to get a chance on the right side for ages. (and he has done well there in the handfull of chances he has got)
i have no idea why Babel doesn't play on the right. We won't lose anything from Kuyt if he's on the left.

I agree he should be played on the right more often...to be fair, our wingers should switch numerous times a game anyway.

lol, whatever man. I like his skills on the ball like every other fan, but it doesn't earn him a free pass on defending. He's easily the worst long term starter we've had at the position apart from Traore this decade.

I take it you're excluding Pellegrino.

And effectively all you're saying is he's the worst out of Carragher, Hyypia and Agger. Which is no shame when you think about it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,369 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

i could defend against Babel at the moment.

the amount of time gerrard loses possession

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,282 ✭✭✭Kent Brockman

Why are liverpool sitting back? its as if they are happy with away goal and dont see the chance to end the tie tonight.
its all Benfica since the goal

How many games did Pellegrino play? I used the qualification "long term" with him in mind

Henchoz, Skrtel and Biscan comfortably better than him aswell from a pure defensive perspective

it hink he's actually only done it that once tonight to be fair to him.

So you are saying in terms of regular starters Agger is the second worst defender at Liverpool in a decade?

    Whatever man indeed :D:D:D:D

Benfica will do good to hold onto Di Maria until after the World Cup. He'll add a few million to what must already be a hefty price tag if he plays.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

A hell of a lot of hoofball being played out of defence by Liverpool. :(

Listening to it just sounds like Benfica are all over Liverpool.

Was that a red card offense on Torres?

    ******

i love the complaining from Luisao.

    what?

    Babel's off?

    f*ck off.

he was stupid, but did nothing worth a straight.

    ludicrous refereeing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,407 ✭✭✭✭LuckyLloyd

Babel you ****ing ****. Argh.

Of course Luiso should have been sent off, but by losing discipline like that you've given him everything he wanted.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,435 ✭✭✭ilovelamp2000

Babel will be sold after that

Nothing in it, but ref's love giving red cards for stuff like that, especially on the continent. Riera could have a buddy in Russia come the end of the season!

Straight red for that? ****ing joke ref.

Gerrard on the left I assume.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,905 ✭✭✭✭Handsome Bob

Babel raised his hand twice and in a way slightly shoved the ref out of the way. He deserved to go. Idiocy.

Stupid red card, but stupid reaction from babel. Tool

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,369 ✭✭✭✭SlickRic

    i hate referees.

he could've easily just calmed it down without the red.

as i say, stupid from Babel, but absolutely no need for the sending off whatsoever.

he put his hand on his face five inches from the ref. deserves red the ******* *****!!!!!!!!

It wasn't even close to a yellow never mind a red. That ref is a muppet.

He would be better spotting the high foot on babel early on right in front of him.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,082 ✭✭✭✭Spiritoftheseventies

silly for babel to put his hand up but not worth the red.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,492 ✭✭✭MementoMori

Wright very good on the analysis front imo.
