I searched and searched and can't find the answer to this anywhere.
Can anyone tell me the minimum break I'm entitled to get for a 10-hour shift ?

Also, is there a minimum break I'm obliged to take ?

    Thanks in advance.

This is the only piece of law regulating breaks:

    http://www.employmentrights.ie/en/media/Workingtimeact.pdf

and it doesn't give 10 hr shifts as such but the bear minimum seems to be 45 mins. (15 after 4 1/2 hrs and 30 m ins after 6 hrs work).

Where I work it's 10 hrs unpaid and 1/2 hr paid. (Retail)

depending on the sector you work in there maybe a LRC recommendation that supersedes the working time directive.
