Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Drogba on the bench? I retract my previous prediction of 1-3.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 88,972 ✭✭✭✭mike65

Chelsea (4-1-4-1) Cech; Ferreira, Terry, Alex, Zhirkov; Mikel; J Cole, Lampard, Deco, Malouda; Anelka.

As a Villa fan, I can tell you Chelsea don't need Drogba that much. :o

I assume Hargreaves isn't on the bench seeing as it's not been mentioned yet?

Why ? Drogba has never scored against united in the league ?

I can't see past a chelsea win either, by a goal or two margin.

YES! No wayward passes from Carrick today. Phew.

    I dont understand it

    but I dont really care

    Drogba on the bench

    Whoop-woop :D

Carrick not playing is a huge positive for utd. He has been awful and Ferguson has pretty much told him that today by dropping him.

Something to do with him not being in the team that put 7 past what had been the leagues best defence before the match i'd guess

Probably best to have Drogba on the bench and see how Chelsea get on without him.....
Only bringing him on if needed will limit the risk of injury!
Still doesn't do my FF team any good

Because aside from being a goal scorer, Drogba requires the defense to pay a lot more attention to him then any of Anelka/Malouda/Zhirkov/J. Cole.

Which in turn leaves more space for other players. Being a forward isn't just about scoring.

Scholes starting after playing a full 90mins mid week? Not really sure at all about this...

Drogba not starting isn't that big a deal, if he's needed he'll be brought on...

Hate being stuck in work on days like this.

    Here's to a good match.

    Kiko with another winner please.

Berba getting a slating off Redknapp and Gullit

    7-1 United.

This is going to sound uber ridiculous...but I thought it was great to see Rooney thanking that woman for the drink. I've been in the company of so many footballers that are so rude when it comes to dealing with people who are serving them. I know it's just basic manners...but im glad he possesses them :D

David Haye is a walking advert, nice guy, but it's still annoying.

Can't wait for hs fight tonight.

I think that team has enough to do the job. Is Park on the left-wing or is it Giggs?

All the Berba bashing is really starting to annoy me, granted he hasn't always been putting in the performances this season but the last 3-4 weeks has been a real improvement and he was great against Fulham, Lets hope he can silence his critics in the best possible way today

Well you say that but Anelka plays so much better when Droggy isn't out there making space for him

Ohh, let's get this on. I'm feeling confident and predicting 2-0 Utd. Backed Berba to score first.

A goal after 120 seconds counts the same as one after 40 minutes, a good start is important and he looked very shaky there...

    Its Ancelotti's masterplan.

Leave your 30 goal striker on the bench and fool the opposition.

could be that or might be he doesn't want any "mistimed" tackle to take Drogba out for the coming weeks:eek:;)
