Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does anyone know who came in first and how long did they go around in ?

I'm fairly certain I was in the lead group, clocking in at 2hr50' for 108km.

    Great day.
I read the whole thread and looks like the more enthusiastic are disappointed.

I took it as a charity event first, and a reason/motivation to get fit with a bit of a deadline for myself and a friend. In fairness it got us out training. I did the 56km (48km really) in 1:57 so I'm ok with that for 4 partial weeks training after 3 years of nothing.

They said the route was accurately measured! our 56km was 48km/49km ish. This was a bother as we came home with the turboboost reserve burn off left unused in the last 5km.

I don't know what a "fred" is but I assume it's those boys that just leech off your ass hiding out of the wind. I just thought they are more amateur than me and had a poor riding etiquette by not willing to do their share of the work. BUT it wasn't a race.

My gripe was with the organisation of the pin on numbers. Why didn't they just post it out with the rest of the useless stuff they sent us? Even download and print your own? I really was in no mood nor had the time to be looking for bars or places that I don't know for a lousy number to stick on my back. As a result I was stressed out on the day trying to get it sorted out. I think a registration point at the race start would have made sense to me.

As for no broom car well the did tell you "No helmet = No ride" that should cover everything no? If I saw that up front I wouldn't have signed up.

Dispite those gripes overall it was a fun day for the light hearted I think. The main thing of getting onto the M3 was accomplished. [All other comments are observations for future events.] :)

Nice road too, shame about the tolls. I wonder how many times we'll have to pay for this one?:(

heh, I was the opposite - I turned on the afterburners with 10km to go, but it turned out to be 17km.

Likewise, I was a little stressed about trying to find it on the morning, and I accidentally (due to driver error) ended up at the start point. It turned out there was a registration point there where you could get your number. I imagine they thought if they advertised that, they'd end up with a huge queue of people getting the number on the morning. But they should've been able to cope with it.
