Good and Evil: Powerful entities from the future that battle so hard that they bring their wars even to our times ?

Is it possible that Good and Evil become such powerful entities in some time in the future that their battles/wars have infiltrated our time.

Whether we like it or not we must take up this battle so that good wins out. Fighting the battle is the easy part. Working out what falls into the good or evil is the tricky bit.

Each individual must make their choices and the best of luck with their choices because with the information that we have it is not easy deciphering the Evil from the Good.

While listening to the radio one day an old woman who was 91 rang in to a morning show on radio limerick 95fm and says to the presenter... You talk all day about this being bad and that being bad if you really wanted to help the world you should start by cleaning up the s h i t e at your own doorstep and if everyone did that there'd be no crap in the world,

There is no good or evil. There are only choices.
Its the consequences of the choices one makes that defines the good and evil.
And you know what, you can never be too sure about which way those choices will turn out to be. As you mentioned it yourself, working out what's good or evil is the tricky part. And indeed it is. Because you'll never know what the consequence of your action will be until you've completed the action.

And this is life. And this is why Good and Evil will persist till eternity. You can't just fight off all the evil in the world. Just as you can't be 100% sure you're gonna sit in your car tomorrow and not end up in a major accident which might take away someone's life. Just as you can't be sure if what you've just said is going to have a positive effect on a listener or a negative one.

We've been trying to do good things ever since we were gifted with the freedom of choosing between options and we have been messing up since. Most of the times we don't mean to mess up. How many times have you done something you thought was good only to later turn out a really bad mistake? And how many times you thought you did something really bad but somehow it all worked out into something rather nice?

So really we have little control over the consequences of our actions. We have little control over the good and evil in this world. Which means in retrospect the choice you made really didn't have much significance at all. At any moment you really can't tell whether your action is going to turn into something good or bad and neither can you say if what you're doing right now is gonna be a good thing or a bad thing. And at the end of the day it really doesn't matter what choice you make. All that matter's is the intention you had behind the choice you made. Its your intention that could be either good or bad and its the only thing that matters in this world.

There's a story about a scholar who goes to meet a saint. It had been said that the saint possessed the only true knowledge of things and the scholar was very eager to meet him so that the scholar could learn this true knowledge that this saint possessed.

When the scholar goes to meet the saint, the saint informs in a very stern manner to the scholar that the knowledge they possess is of a very different kind and the scholar can't remain quiet and patient with him. The scholar promises the saint to obey him and remain patient and they set out together.

They then aboard a boat. Before getting off at their destination, the saint took hold of a plank in the boat and broke it away. Forgetting his promise the scholar said "why have you made a hole in the boat to drown its inmates when these people helped you? You have done a grievous thing!". The saint reminded the scholar to be patient and not ask any questions. The scholar agreed and they moved on.

Next they came across a young boy. As soon as they saw them, the saint quickly killed him. The scholar was once again shocked and said "what are you doing?! you first sank a boat and now you killed this boy? This is against all laws!". The saint once again reminded the scholar to remain quiet.

Then they reached a city where they asked for food. No one gave them any food and they were thrown out. On the way they found a wall which was on a verge of collapse. The saint rebuilt that wall and made it straight. The scholar once again exclaimed "Why are you doing this? no one accepted us as guests in this city and yet you rebuilt a wall for them?". At this point the saint replied "this is where we part for you do not understand my wisdom".

The saint then discloses the reason towards his actions. Firstly he caused the boat to sink because there was a tyrant who was seizing every boat from the poor people at this part of the city. In order the people not lose their boat, he made it sink. The tyrant is going to die the next day and then they can retrieve their boat and use it then. He then killed the boy because he was going to cause great evil and suffering to his parents and so he prevented that. He then built the wall which belonged to a very kind and generous man who had left a treasure buried beneath it for his two orphans. If the wall had come down, people would see the treasure and take it away. Hence he restored the wall for the two children to receive their treasure later.

Some of you might recognise this story.

Anyway, point is you really can't tell the reason and motives behind any person's actions and neither can you jump to early conclusions stating the person's actions are good or evil!! :)
