I will be ordering windows next week after a lot of hassle getting what I want. While Im waiting for them, Im wondering if I can plaster externally (and leave the reveals till later)?

    Cheers!

    I don't think so!

When I got my house plastered the reveals were done between the scratch coat and the finish coat.

It may be possible to place battens where the windows will go and plaster the reveals up to that, but there is a risk of the windows not lining up correctly with the cills.

    Thanks for the reply Dolanbaker.

Only planning to plaster two reveals as the rest of the windows are on the ground floor, otherwise I was planning to use battens where the reveals would be, do the scud, scratch and nap finish and then finish the reveals once the windows are fitted. Id like to get the scaffolding down, and the windows will probably be two months before delivery.

Im thinking I could tip away at the plastering and painting and have one less job to do after fitting windows...

Sorry should have been clear - No interior work planned, just exterior napped finish if there is no strong reason I need to wait until the windows are in.

Ive to wait for the airtightness test before I can plasterboard inside anyway.
