    Hi all,

Bit of a dummy with cars so have a quick question. I have a 2006 ford tdci its a 1.4L. Does that model have a timing belt or chain? How often should a timing belt be changed?

    Thanks for any help :)

it's a belt and the interval is 100,000 miles or 10 years.

Cool thanks colm whats that in km? A guy said something to me before about a tensioner or something whatever that means??

    that's 160,000km.

I think Ford will cover any failures even if the car is out of warranty. double check that with your dealer.

According to ford its every 125.000 miles or 10 years from august 05 on.

The tensioner should always be done and will come with a timing belt kit, Its advised to change the water pump too.
