Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I took and edited that shot week with my €99 8.1MP AA battery Kodak and Flikr and was pretty happy with how it was recieved by some family and friends.

I was just wondering what photography enthusiasts thought of it, and if possible could you guys suggest some possible cameras for me (on a tight student budget) to purchase? Any tips for me to continue developing photography as a hobby of mine would also be greatly appreciated

Im a beginner too and bought a nikon d70 dslr on ebay
last summer@350euros....most people suggested to me
to get the d40....but anyhow a nikon or canon will
do.If you want go get into photography get a dslr
and learn how to use it off the net and forums.Takes
time to understand everything and learn about the
controls but worth it after a few weeks.

Thats my two cents.:)

I like the shot.. it's got interesting colors in the reflections.

Can we see a reflection of the photographer in the glass too?

Cool image, it'd make a good desktop wallpaper

I used a cheap Fuji bridge camera for a year, to get used to manual controls. That should be your first step if you really want to move up/improve. Learn how to control exposure/aperture and ISO settings.

Look around on used sites, like adverts.ie.

What exactly is your budget?

No point buying a dslr unless you're willing to fight through the frutrations all n00bs face. You won't get great pictures right off, you'll get more crap than good if anything, so long as you learn from every mistake though - you'll find you're getting more good than bad after a while.

I recently upgraded to an entry level dslr [Sony A200] I got a good deal through adverts, couple of lenses, remote shutter release, couple of filters and 2 books on the camera for €300. You will find cheaper, older cameras. Just ignore the MP count, there's cameras like Canon 30ds going for less than €300 with kit lens + bag etc ...

Just be prepared to read a lot of articles, and ask a lot of questions in forums, just like this one. It's a great hobby, but like any, you have to work at it to improve and fully enjoy.
