Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm not really into slating companies but I thought that my experience with them would be useful to other members.

Basically I had an accident at the start of March, 2 weeks before my renewal date, and wrote my car off. No damage to any other party.

Assessor came out quickly and agreed a fair price with me (within 5 days) so that was fine.
The claim company (MIS) were a bit slow in getting contact but did get the cheque out to me within 3 weeks. On the note with my cheque is stated "in settlement of my claim" so understandably I assume the claim was closed - WRONG.

As I had been waiting for my cheque I couldn't get another car as I was short 5K so I decided not to renew my policy with Charteris as they quoted me a ridiculous price after I had claimed with them.

About 10 days after i received my cheque I decided on a new car to get but realised that I hadn't received a new no claims certificate with the step back so I got on to my broker, insure.ie.

They were a bit slow in getting on to it (a full week) but came back to say that Charteris wouldn't close the claim as they hadn't agreed a price with the assessor!! So I had been left in limbo and was unable to get insured with another company...

Had to threaten Cherteris with the financial regulator before they would do anything. Did eventually get on to a helpful guy who did sort it out but this was a month after I made the claim and 2 weeks after I got my settlement cheque and all because the didn't bother to close the claim!!

Anyway to add a little sweetener I got a quote with nononsense.ie and after I included the fact that I had a claim settled it still came 70euro cheaper than Charteris quoted my BEFORE the accident.

    AVOID THOSE CHARTERIS COWBOYS!!!

They quoted me (through first ireland) very cheaply. This kind of crap is what I worry about though. Have to make a decision this week.
