cavity wall insulation

I am currently building a new house. I gave a detailed spec to my builder on which he signed off. I'm keeping a close eye on the build. In the spec we asked for 80mm of Quinntherm high density rigid board in the cavity of 120mm. So far, he is sticking to the spec. I noticed however a bundle of 80 mm xtratherm thin R insulation on site yesterday. Is the Quinntherm product a superior insulating performer? Should I ask the builder to stick with the Quinntherm? or am I unduly worried?

Quinntherm , xtratherm , kingspan and Ballytherm all make similar products .
    no cause for concern

    Hi there,

Not sure of QuinnTherm but I thought Kingspan would have the best U value but after speaking with our BER Assessor, he advised that the Xtratherm 80mm insulation is actually a better U value than Kingspan... Nothing to worry about I would say (unless it has a major impact on your U value which I doubt).
