Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Where are you trying to send mail from? A desktop mail client? The site?

If you can receive but not send then your outgoing server settings are most likely incorrect.

Your outgoing server must be the smtp server of your isp. Check the settings on your isp's website.

e.g. if Eircom is your broadband provider check on Eircoms's website for email settings.

I'm running Outlook 2007 on my Win 7 PC without any problems.

As FSL says, this sounds like a setup/settings issues.

Microsoft would be foolish to release Win 7 and not make sure the most popular office suite in the world wouldn't be 100% compatible.

Find your ISP or your email provider and they should have detailed instructions on how to set up your email client for use with your email account.

I was away for a bit and on return still have same problem.

    Here is more on it:
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Live Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.
The rejected e-mail address was xxxxxxxx@eircom.net.

OE is Outlook Express, and is dropped on win7. You should use live mail instead.
The IP is blacklisted by spamhouse, see here for solution

Thanks for this. It has moved me on to:

It looks like the credentials are incorrect (name/password)

I've the exact same problem but the credentials work on the webmail eircom.net but not in Windows live mail.

Worse still, I had it working on Windows Live Mail when w7 was on 30-day trial and now that it is all above board, it doesn't work! :(

Here`s on for ya`s....I`m using win 7 and win live mail and for some reason I cant receive mail, some mail seems to get through but the more I tried to sort it there does`nt seem to be any getting through.
i`m with vodafone and they offered us a different broadband offer and we`re trying it for a while, would that have affected the mail?

What`s the basic setting you have to do for vodafone to work with wins7, its IOL is what we use, cheers for any help..

PS here`s wha I get when I try to send a mail from another e-mail to my IOL one...
