Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I saw the coastguard helicopter hovering around Clahane area of Liscannor at 4 today, then move near Liscannor Pier where coastguard boat arrived to be launched, and Gardai. There were a good few surfers & kite surfers out in that very rough weather today at Lahinch. Did someone go missing? I do hope not, but it looked pretty serious activity today. Nothing on the news so far.

heard it on the news earlier, 2 kite surfers got dragged out to sea.
The coastguard was alerted and the helicopter arrived to do a search and rescue but the surfers managed to make their own way back to land.

Yeah was monitoring them with Binoc's for awhile. They were very far out, wind was gusting up to 45 knots....not good. If you lose your kite and board out that far you are in trouble.....mostly from the cold at this time of year. Hypothermia is the killer. Noticed one of the lads gear, kite floating loose towords shore, couldn't see the person it was meant to be attached to. Id say they managed to get onshore west of Moy beach.

It's fun being out in crap conditions.....but sometimes the conditions can be too crappy.

Glad they were found safe, but really do think it was madness being out in the sea in such rough weather. Paidi, might have seen you happily kite surfing on the beach, at least you'd a bit of cop on:-)!
Thanks for update, good all was ok.
