ITs barca's Champions league now, unless they do something silly, first team to defend the title (if they do) but fully deserved (if they do)...
Barca would annihilate that Bayern team, they wouldnt get a look in.
Disappointing for Utd to go out to such a poor team but they simply arent good enough .

To be fair on tonights game fergie there is one person cost UTD that game, rafael, totally changed the game IMO

I think most neutrals would have Barca afavs ahead of Utd anyway. Two big talking points Rooney inclusion and Raphael getting himself sent off

Nani is rubbish. Nani's not a player at all.

    Lol

I'm looking forward to hopefully see Barca win the Champions League in the Bernabeau!
Barca v Lyon is my prediction... (presuming Lyon go through. I'm watching RTE so I have no idea.)
    Lyon through

Barca wont be losing any sleep over lyon inter or bayern .

in fairness to eamo you cant take nani's two goals in isolation.

nani for years has been brutal

he's has about 8/9 great games this year

for a team of united's stature.

that's pretty useless imho the two goals don't mean anything

remember they're his first goals in europe

Total stupidity from Raphael cost us.
Michael Carrick was at fault for both goals, thats who cost us.
Dont wanna see Carrick in a Utd shirt again, abysmal.

Totally agree and being saying it for years he was rubbish. I just hope SAF gets rid of him in the summer.

How many times has Dunphy said 'I told you so' tonight?

That RTE panel really are charicatures of themselves at this stage. The apres match guys would actually do a better job.

Total stupidity from Raphael cost us. Ah I thought Barca were gonna win the cup anyway.

Dont wanna see Carrick in a Utd shirt again, abysmal.

And Dunphy talking **** as usual

A kid like that shouldn't be put in that position to start with. If O'shea was fit enough for the bench, he was fit enough to start. You start with the player who has played in the champions league big matches before.

He looked nervous from the start and I was waiting for him to something stupid and he did. That first booking was just so silly when he tripped the bayern lad from the ground.

Carrick again let the team, I'm sorry but he's done it too many times this season.
Fergie would be absolutely mad not to buy a midfielder in the Summer.

yes he hasn't been great, but has stepped it up this season, and to say he is rubbish or not up to this level is very hasty I feel. Nani is getting better, and I dont think he is rubbish,

The 1st thing Ribery did in the game was wave for a yellow card and that was after 50 mins tbh.Rafael had a great game up until then.

Ray Houghton generally avoids these arguments, doesn't look comfortable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,646 ✭✭✭cooker3

United basically had a 3-0 head start over the 2 legs with an away goal and still couldn't finish the job.
It should haver been in doubt.

he has only stepped "up" on a hanful of occasions and most of them occasions was not against great oppisition.

he may not be rubbish, but he's played a lot more rubbish games than great games

Weird cup in the cabinet the last month and a bit :pac:

In his infamous Keano rant at Liam Brady Eamo said Fergie was 'finished'. Currently Fergie's going for an unprecedented four titles in a row and has gotten United to the CL final the last two years. It's comical.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,288 ✭✭✭✭ntlbell

time for fergus to bow out LOLOL

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,814 ✭✭✭Nemanja91

It was not Rafaels fault for getting knocked out, when he was on the pitch he didn't give ribery time to turn around, ribery couldn't do nothing, but i thought it was a foul just before his first booking, it defo looked like a foul, the first card was stupid but he couldnt do nothing about it, no one was going to close him down

RTE panel are doing themselves no favours here. Like bullies beaten on a man on the ground.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,219 ✭✭✭✭Pro. F

I'm gutted. At least the hunger and the drive was respectable tonight. Going out on away goals after being down to ten is just what happens sometimes. But ultimately, so much huff and puff and such a lack of skill in our midfield was telling again. Carrick being the chief culprit as usual.

Well done Bayern, you did what you needed to tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,377 ✭✭✭Warper

Dunphy: United are at the end of the Ferguson era:eek:

Dunphy changes his tune after every match as do the rest of the panel. Bar the last 3 games they were ahead in the PL and second favs for the CL - they need tweaking but hardly end of an era.

No they wouldn't. If Bayern meet Barca in the final it will be an incredibly close match. Permission to *mark my words*
