Just checking that you weren't just being sarcastic as what you wrote was the biggest load of nonsense.

Housework is just housework, it doesn't take an eight hour shift, nose to the grindstone. Men can hoover, wash dishes, do laundry, cook etc etc as well as any woman.

It became the woman's domain because Men were out working.

There are now many men who stay at home while their wives go to work.

What the **** is this??

Women are / were better at multitasking because they have / had to be sex slaves in the home??

Simpler explanation - 4 ,5 guys (defenders ) simultaneously run out of box at sign of approaching opposition (foreward) who haz his eye on the ball and needs to be behind , or in line with the defenders while obtaining said ball :pac:

I watch and love womens football

It's if the attacker (that interferes with play) is ahead of the 2nd last defender (the last is usually the keeper) and it's taken from when the ball is delivered, not obtained :)

As a mere male I can sit on a sofa and watch football at the same time as I neck a few Heinos but do you hear me bragging? Now that's multi-tasking. Get over yourselves girls.

At moement when ball is delivered , attacker must be at least in line with defender's or a defender . Keeper is the final line of defence yes :)

I'm with you on this one pete..
I know we can do it better, because.. Well, we are men after all.

But ya know I'd be careful pete..
Some posters might take our views as being sexist or derogatory.
I'm glad that you decided to come down on this side of the issue.
Too many posters seem to go for the "politically correct" both sexes are equal approach...

It's true though, not one lady be thinking men can multitask better.

Loads of guys think women are, loads think men are and some think both are the same.

Yet, so far no women think men are

The fact that men can type and be objective, would suggest men are multitasking while voting :p

Which sex gender is better and multitasking?

I think that such blanket statements are idiotic, they are flawed statments which make people think about people they meet in a certain way and make assumptions instead of dealing with the person infront of them which can often lead to misunderstandings and hurt feelings.

Much as I hate to admit it, research after research has shown that Women are by far better at multitasking. :(
The only research I could find to back this up involved rats not humans.
True or False: Women are better at multitasking, while men are better when concentrating on a single task from beginning to completion. True. Ruben Gur, PhD, and Raquel Gur, MD, PhD, at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, measured blood flow and activity in men's and women's brains, and they found repeatedly that women use more parts of their brains when given a wide variety of verbal and spatial tasks. They believe that this may contribute to women's ability to focus on a number of different things at one time.
However,it also states :
Anew study has raised an important question: Women may be better at multitasking, but is multitasking really the most efficient way to work? Newer research shows that switching back and forth from one task to another takes precious seconds of reevaluation, and those seconds add up. As the researchers point out, in the best-case scenario, this makes you only slightly less efficient -- but in the case of someone talking on a cell phone and driving, that fraction of a second may make the difference between life and death.
The conclusion I personally have come to is this: Multitasking is certainly helpful when you don't have any options, when your assistant is out sick or when you're trying to put dinner on the table while at the same time making sure your children are entertained and safe. But I find that when I need to concentrate on writing, it's helpful for me to turn off my phone and my e-mail program, with its constant "new mail" alerts, so that I can better and more purely concentrate on the task at hand.

Or the fact there was a concerted effort to improve female exam results.

Men doing better than women is surely a sign of sexism but women doing better than men is just brilliant.

Some smartarse academic said the below:

women do better in exams despite men having higher iq's because women are more conditioned and fearful, they don't have a plan b or risktaking mentality and they lack the confidence in themselves to succeed outside of conventional methods (exam, degree, dull office job, kids, house, death) thus ironically sustaining the very society that they claim discriminates against them.

women's biggest weakness is the lack of a "thinking outside the box" faculty or indeed lack of courage to act on same.

so the very best woman will change the business (by slowly progressing up the ladder, eventually becoming boss, introducing workplace creches though childless herself and patting ehrself on the back for the great contribution she has made in this man's world)

the very best man will change the system itself so there is no business as we know it, there is no man's world as we know it

that, my friends, according to the smartarse academic is the secret, the very essence of the difference between the genders, women may be hard-working, conscientious, competent, tough, intelligent etc but men are BOLDER and that means everything

what a load of tosh eh???

I think some women may be better then some men and there are some men who are better then some women but there are always exceptions to any general statement about the genders and you never know who you are dealing with and what their strengths and weaknesses are so its wrong to assume what their strengths and weaknesses are based on gender.

I'd go as far to say it's sexist genderist. :P

I do too, my comments in the OP were tongue in cheek.

That's why the thread title is a question and not a statement.

If your contention is correct, then it is men who have been the victim of this "sexist" thinking.

My question to you is why for the past 10 -15 years has it been said so much that 'Women can Multitask and Men cannot'?

Surely this all can't have started with just one study based on rats?

I have no idea but I would be interested in what your investigations throw up.

In terms of what is said re women and them multitasking in the home, I would seriously doubt it. While is is possible to appear to be about many tasks at once it is usually more likely that it is a series of chores which a person turns their hand to as it is needed, rather then juggling many immediately.

I know I have a limit on what I can do and I have rules about people bothering me when I have things to finish under pressure. The kids know not to bother me or ask me questions or distract me when I reach the stage of dishing up dinner, too many hot things and too many things which may go wrong. But then again despite my gender I apprently have a blokey (tech and engineering ) brain.

Not really, because anything else is all well and good for assessing general intelligence but when it comes down to studying something specifically you can't do anything but ask them to study something then ask them questions about... Which as has been said favours girls but there's not much you can do about that
