Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    C'mon Real :)

Alves is in midfield seemingly and Keita up front!:eek:

Strange lineup from Barca. Hard to know how the hell they're gonna line out.

Alves as one of the three top attackers with Messi and Pedro; with the three midfielders Keita, Xavi and Busquets?

    Sky's graphic is incorrect.

What I said above is the proper lineup and were Alves, Keita play.

Alves on the right of midfield and Keita up front so says both Catalan and Madrid press.

No iniesta, henry, bojan, ibra... oh dear

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

Pep has put a spanner in the works because now both Catalan and Madrid press have backtracked and stated that it all depends on Puyol. If he plays RB then Alves will be in attack but if he plays LB then Maxwell goes up front! Suffice to say Pep has managed to confuse everyone!

Early impressions are that Madrid are getting right up close to Barca players and not leaving much space.

Can a yellow be taken back? Never seen it happen myself. Should be though.

    Edit: Apparently it was.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

That was a soft yellow for Messi

    Ref is a bit dense

This chap has done 22 Real Madrid games and they have never lost!

Messi should have released Pedro on that break. was running free down the left

    That is brilliant.

Incidentally, you just know Ronaldo would still have been rolling around on the ground while Messi was already back up and scoring...

Gooolllllllllllllllllll!! What a goal from Messi. All about the pass from Xavi!!!!!

    Ronaldo will be fuming:)

Anyone else notice Ramos trying to get Messi sent off when he tried to take a quick free and kick the ball against him? Missed though!:pac:

Why did I have to be greedy and make it a Bent+Messi 1st goalscorer double rather than just Messi.:(

In fairness, the Barca players were at it too with Alonso.

Lot of backchat out there too, seems to be a bit of needle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

Real putting alot of pressure and Barca cannot build from the back in their normal way. A lot of long balls forward which is very unbarca like. I have to say Real are doing a good job of stopping barca getting into their rhythm. That said they still find themselves behind!

Ronaldo just saw his team lose possession there on the left and he literally just stood and looked at the ball, why would anyone rate him over Messi is completely beyond me.

Yup, only caught out by Barca taking the quick free kick before Real had gotten their shape again.

I think Barca's lineup is throwing them off as well - some of the only ball Alves has gotten has been with his back to the Real goal which isn't really his game.

Has any body got a working web sight to watch this on, I don't have sky sports any more and each link i've used keeps crashing (probably because of the number of people watching? ) Mail it to me please :)

Also, Pedro has to come off, he has been very in effective
The ref is absolutely diabolical, how the f does he have ANY of the required qualities :/

That's true actually, an attacking player who isn't required to do any defensive duties must be useless.

I didn't see the replay, so may be wrong but I thought the Barça players were complaining that Alonso deliberately handled the ball on the ground to stop a Barça attack which is an automatic yellow card. Ramos grabbed the ball, placed it down beside Messi and tried to kick it against him before he even had a chance to move.

I'm glad nothing came of either situation anyway. Hopefully we'll see both teams get their attacking game flowing in the 2nd half.

Oh I wasn't saying they were equivalent - just that the Barca players were very catty (even if they did have a more legitimate case).

The ref hasn't been great (he's played some good advantages too, mind) but the players aren't helping him.

On that actually, just saw Ronaldo's dive again - really was a shocker.

How did Alonso not put that chance away... shocking.
