Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As above, Bought this today for peanuts, Need it as a run about. The previous owner was very honest with me and he did not know when the timing belt was replaced on it, would rather him say this than lie to me.

Does anyone know the intervals that the belt should be replaced? I will get it done if need be but couldn't find out on google when they get replaced.

I was thinking about the 70miles then 140miles? am i right?

    Thanks lads!

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

That's not really relevant, is it? There's 163k miles on the car and there is no history of the timing belt being done. So it needs doing now. You've got two options:

    1. Change it now (and if the car is a keeper, find out in a few years time what the interval is for the next change)

    2. Don't change it, drive it until it dies (from a snapped belt or from something else) and buy another banger for peanuts

The most is 50,000 miles for most cars. So 35,000 seems about right.

If it's the 2.0l diesel it has a chain so it should be fine.

Pretty sure the 2.0DI is a chain. The old 1.7 was a belt though
