Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I've been shopping around for new tyres and i went to Advance Tyres in Limerick who told me that i need to get tyres with the E-marking on them to pass the NCT. I have been shopping around in limerick for the best price. Tyre stop seem to have the best prices but Advance told me that Tyre stop tyres do not have the E-marking s required to pass the NCT.
I visited Tyre stop and told them this and they informed me that all of their tyres have E-marking as well as S-markings which are now required on all tyres. Are advance just bad mouthing? Any suggestions?

    NCT from April 2010.
An “E” or “e” mark indicates that the tyre is certified to comply with international regulations. A vehicle will fail if an “E” or “e” mark is not visible.

    Suggestion: get E tyres.

Yes you need e markings for nct/doe but for advance to say that was madness. Tyrestop could take them to the cleaners

My understanding was the tyres sold in the EU had the E marking for a number of years now.

OP, check out prices on www.camskill.co.uk, just budget a further €50 for having them fitted. I found them alot cheaper than the prices I was getting from local suppliers. Just avoid the cheap Korean/Chinese crap.

PM me if you need the name of a place in Limerick city to fit them.

All tyres officially tested and sold in the EU have had 'e' marks for years but the selling of non 'e' marked tyres has never been regulated. Many places have begun importing non 'e' marked tyres from china and south America over the last couple of years and these are the ones that are causing the problems.
