can anyone recommend any puppy classes that are close enough to D13 or D5.
all the ones that ive seen advertised in the locals vets and petshops have been fully booked or cancelled.

cant seem to find anywhere that advertises them online either

    cheers

Dog Training Ireland is just past cappagh - not that far from you? I live on Botanic Ave and it takes me 15 mins to get there. TBH I did them in the vets and while they were good after going to DTI for obidience etc I can see it would have been better!

had been recommended those, but both of us dont drive so it could be difficult to get to at times.
im thinking to book in for some classed out there when i have more free time in the evenings during summer.

i was hoping someone might know of a group thats fairly local so we could just get her to meet some other dogs and so on as she gets very distracted by other people and dogs.

shes a 15 week old springer spaniel

I have 2 Springers and they definitely need a bit of training. I've heard some good reports about dublindogcare www.dublindogcare and as far as I'm aware they are in the Raheny area, so worth a shot.

OP Maybe not great for your location but...

    DSPCA do great training classes:
    http://dspca.ie/prevent_cruelty_to_animals.php?number=206&sectionnumber=34

    Free Orientation class in April.

I've been to this and 5 classes and can't recommend Alex highly enough. Great background, great attitude and plenty of time for his students (you! the dog owner!)

Hope its some help to someone reading this...

Is Anicare in Santry any use to you? Thou if they're full you'll have to wait a few weeks :( Does your local park allow dogs off their lead at certain times - eg ours lets them off before 11:00am and the last hour before closing. If this is the case then once the pup is vaccinated go along to the park on a weekend morning and you're bound to bump into other dogs?

i think anicare santry and clontarf have us on waiting lists but havent called back!

ahh, we have her out on the beach or in st annes most days but dogs need to be on a leash all the time from what i can tell. we do let her off when no one is around but thats not much help in getting her to adjust:)
im working on getting her to return when i call her and then i might trust her to see another dog and not dissappear ... but for the moment im just being cautous with her

The classes in Anicare run for 4 weeks I think - we waited a few weeks before getting a call back too. I think they wait until they have a few people interested because when I was there with our pup somebody else was asking about it so they added us both to the list. LOL our puppy went on to win a prize - they had a 'show' in the last class to show what tricks the pups could do - sit, down etc we had been working on roll over so I threw it in - everybody clapped lol

if anyone is thinking of getting a puppy i would definitely say to register for a class like this
