Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone ever heard of this guy? I just got finished watching his "Sessions" DVD last night and I have to say his images are very impressive. Especially his personal work in Ethiopia.

He's only about 21 years old, with no formal training. I don't think he even finished high school, as apparently he was already working for some high profile clients by then.

A part of me was hoping he was just an arrogant rich kid with all the gear and Hollywood connections, but after watching the DVD I get the impression that he's just a very genuine, very talented and very hard working young'un.

The DVD itself is kinda light on actual technique (although I did pick up some very practical lighting tips from it), it's more of an interview, with him talking about various aspects of his work, e.g. lighting, composition, business, post production etc. . .

I was very skeptical about this guy, but you can now color me impressed, so just thought I'd share :)

from flicking through his portfolio/website .... theres a lot of post processing work done to EVERY image, skin tones seem off to me - kinda plasticky, he is well able to produce great results, I just dont like the plasticky-ness of the pics (not just the skin tones)

+1 The images from Ethiopia are fantastic. The posing of subjects is sublime IMOH. I especially like the way he uses the B&W conversions on a couple of layers in PP. Not a whole lot of learning in the rest of the DVD. Though very enjoyable to watch. All in all I have to say I'm impressed with his work and I am and have been a fan for quite a while now.

Cracking photographer if you ask me! I've been looking at his stuff for over two years now and love his attitude. He has a funny rap skit up on youtube - a good laugh.

Really love his shots and wish him all the best with his work. He's pushing the standard of pro photographers imo!!
