Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi

    I have a 05 Vauxhall Astra, 1.6 petrol with 25k miles on it, it's in mint condition and has a FSH. my first question is what's it worth?

    due to a new job with a commute I want a diesel, I cant afford to add cash to it, so I want to use whatever money I can get for the Astra and get a diesel, I may consider going up North again and going through an auction.

    Recommend me a car for what you would think I would get for the Astra.

    possibly Astra again, Hyundai i30 etc must be a hatchback though

    intodays climate expect to get about 7k in a private sale and if you sold to trade take a good wedge off it.

    Maybe €5500-€6000? A Vauxhall will be worth significantly (€500-€750) less than an Opel in Ireland, sadly, cancelling out the low mileage.

    couple of bad points...

    1. as stated is a vauxhall... not good

    2. its a 1.6... unfortunately they dont sell very well... most astras sold here are 1.4........

    so going with confab... 5500

    private... and god only knows what you get in a trade in sale....
