There was a great turnout last summer for informal softball games over at the Charlesland Sport & Recreation Park.
FYI, "Softball" is a mixed, recreational version of baseball, also similar to rounders. Just to make it interesting, the ball that you hit (with a bat) is not actually soft - but it's a larger ball that travels a little slower than a baseball when hit or thrown.

The group will form a team and join Softball Ireland's league with training and games on Monday nights. First training session is Monday the 12th of April at 7pm. New players very welcome, men and women over 18. No experience is needed - just the willingness to throw a ball, catch a ball, run short distances, and whack a ball with a baseball bat as hard as you can! Good fun.

    Hey,
Played 2 Seasons of League Softball in Texas and would be keen to join in here. Is the training schedule always going to be 7pm on a Monday?

    Hey

We play on Monday Nights at 7 - weather depending - The League will be begining shortly and the games are Home - In Charlesland - on Monday evenings and Away games are in Wesley College in Ballinteer.

If we have enough people we could get a game going.

would be great to see as many people as possible. Its great fun and great way to meet new people.

    Thanks

Is the training just basically playing the sport or is there fitness training as well like running laps etc? Last sport I took up we just ran laps and lost every game due to no actual practice in playing the game. It was bizarre. We could run though!!
