I'll prob be doing English,Media and Cultural Studies so I'm wondering if many people wait for the results or is it best to book early price-wise.
Ill basically go anywhere with a roof, pretty cheap, with fellow IADT students that isnt much more than 5km away.

    Hi Jimi,
I have secured a house with 7 other first year iadt students and there is one bed space available, its a huge room and it has 2 single beds, one lad has already taken a space so there is one bed left to share a room with him. Would you be interested in sharing. The rent is 368euro a month and this includes all bills so the only thing you buy yourself is food. Just over the garden wall is the college so it is that close. All of us have given our deposit to the landlord which is 368 euro.
Please let me know if you are interested as soon as possible.
    Thanks.

    Hi Jimi,
The house was on daft but now it has been taken down because all the rooms are just about filled. I went up to view the house and payed a deposit a few weeks ago and took some pictures so if you want i can email them to you.
We all started to know each other from this forum thread and now on facebook, are you on facebook because it is easier to communicate with each other. The guy who is in the room I think is starting the same course as yourself.

Thanks for the quick reply bluebell,
I suppose I probly should try and get down to Dublin in next day or two if I am gonna look around. it probably would be a good idea for me to quickly get a Facebook profile to communicate with you. And that would be great if you have pictures of it on your Facebook page, cheers

If anyone is still looking for a house, my landlady gave my a call yesterday saying she's cleared out another house around a 3 minute walk from IADT. Prices go from 350-450€ depending on room size. All bills included! Give me a PM if you're interested and I'll PM back her no.

Hi, I'm hopeing to go to IADT next year, planning on moving up with my friend who's going to be going to the Gaeity. We were looking at places in Ranelagh as it's like half way between the two. Would this be alot of hassle if I was going to IADT?

Ranelagh should be ok, depending which side you're on. You will be able to walk from Ranelagh to Upper Leeson St, where you can catch the 46a bus which goes straight to the college. The walk should take around 20 minutes.
You could also get the Luas from Ranelagh to Charlemont, only one stop. Still gonna be about a 10 minute walk, and then when you factor in cost of Luas and waiting time, you might as well just walk to the bus ;)

Thanks for the reply! Yeah think I'll just walk, try and avoid the feshers fifteen and all ;)

I was just wondering, do most IADT students live in the area around the college (Dun Laoghaire, Monkstown, etc) or closer to the city centre? I was thinking of living close to the college but it's a lot more expensive than I imagines it would be, going by property websites.

It's a mix really! Depends what you want. If you live close to the college it's easy to get there and back, save on bus fare. But if you choose to socialise in the City Centre then taxis are going to be a major expense.

If you choose to live in the city, or somewhere near town with a 46a bus stop, your on the doorstep of a city with shops, bars and clubs. You could walk home from town, but a student monthly bus card is €75.
