Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Installing more ram in a Dell Dim 4600

    Hi

I've gotten 1gb (2*512mb) of PC3200 ram to install in the home pc which currently has 512mb (2*256mb) of PC2700 ram. Ripping/burning cds and some audio-editing (audacity/sound forge) would be the height of the intensive stuff. My question is should I replace the PC2700 and just have the 1gb running at PC3200 speeds or have 1.5gb @ PC2700 speeds? Quantity v quality? Would there be any issues around the power supply with 4 sticks of ram instead of 2 on a 6-7 year old PC? The Dell manual says the DC PSU is 250w.

    Thanks in advance

Will your motherboard run the PC3200 at its design speed?
I wouldnt worry too much about PSU issues
I'd stick it all in if you have the slots

According to Everest under the memory bus properties of the motherboard the effective clock is 333mhz. Would that be current settings with the PC2700 ram or the settings dictated by the motherboard?
