    Hi there everyone,

Just looking for a little advice. I'm 30 years old and coming to Dublin to visit. I'd like to know where the nice girls go on the weekend. I'd like to stay away from loud, crowded meat markets. (Coppers)
If I wanted to go to a pub to meet and talk with local women of my age that have possibly aged past the 'party girl' mentality, where would I go?

I've been away from Dub for awhile, so I don't know for sure, but The Big Tree still shows up as a current listing on the web.

When I moved to Dublin, I was given The Big Tree as a landmark by someone when I asked for directions - needless to say, bog-head here was frantically looking along Dorset Street for a big tree... :o

I used to go there on Thursday student nights when at Trinners.

I was staying up that way last month, and it was closed.

OP, why don't you try meetup.com? I've met some very nice and not-so-nice (heh heh ;)) people, esp through the New and Not So New in Dublin group.

    +1 on Hogans.

I've been told that Cafe en Seine is a bit like Coppers for the 30+ set, but I've met cool people there. Then again, I'm kind of a nerd, so I attract my own, I guess.

Koh on the Millenium Walkway near Jervis, great place for drinks, lovely cocktails and an outside area for smokers. Ok food too but not the best Thai food you'll find in Dublin.

Also: The lobby in the Morgan Hotel, Pintox Wine Bar, Enteco de Langne (spelling???) also on Millenium Walkway, The Church, Venu Brasserie Cocktail Bar, MV Killarney, The Bar in the Westbury. Hope this helps!

I meant its reputation as a meatmarket, not aesthetics...

Maybe they were renovating then? They were closed late Feb/early March.

They only open it for Paddys Day and big matches in Croke Park. Don't think they've been able to compete with Quinns and McGowans in the area.

Go to the forum 'Boards Drama Group', you will meet lots of nice girls there and have a laugh, to boot.

There are no good girls left.. They all left in the 1980's aboard a ship called the "The Americas". Eve and her descends are all that's left!!:D:D:D

That explains why it was open when I was there for the matches in Croker recently!
