    Indeed. The sponsor, Eircom, wasn't even in existence then it was Opel. The only link I can make between the two is going to see them play (my first gig) and seeing Ray Houghton's winning goal against England in Euro 88 (on tv) a month later. As a thirteen year old life was never the same after those two events ;)
