Do you want just pigtail and plug on one end?

    Or what?

I might have something in my junk box. I know my sig says no PMs, but you never know : )

is it plug + cable for this socket? http://ly.rsdelivers.com/product/tyco-electronics/8-215464-8/18-way-micro-match-pcb-plug-127mm-pitch/5325219.aspx

    Ah

I see. Opposite sex to normal.
    well
    That makes it easier.

you can MAKE a plug for that socket with cutting up an 18 pin turned pin IC socket.

file outer edges/sides before you cut the middle bridges off
cut inner bridges and put strips back to back (outer sides in)
verify strips fit back to back in Radio socket.
fill the sockets with solder and solder alternately to each strip.
(separate the ribbon cable about 1cm back)
the ribbon cable will hold the two strips offset,
If you filed enought, the two strips will fit back to back in the radio socket
glue gun top of homemade connector when it's in socket to stop ribbon wires breaking.
When glue has set the plug will be unpluggable in one piece.

This link http://ly.rsdelivers.com/product/tyco-electronics/8-215464-8/18-way-micro-match-pcb-plug-127mm-pitch/5325219.aspx was for a PCB connector. You need the cable version, or solder wires onto the PCB pins.

but you can easily make a plug out of an IC socket as I described.

I happen to have a photo

Not 100% the same. but It's an IC socket cut up to make a plug,

im with you just two questions why do i need to file the outer edges also when you say solder alternate into the connectors would that be 1 3 5 into connector 1 and 2 4 6 into other and so on

the two rows on the PCB part are close. Maybe it might work without filing. But if you *do* need to file, it's easier before you break it to two strips like my photo.
