    hi,
    we are a group working on providing information to gay people who face the challenge of adopting a child.

    We would love to hear from other people who:
    - Are a gay couple, or a gay individual, raising a child;
    - Are a gay couple, or a gay individual, thinking about adopting;
    - Are a gay couple, or a gay individual, in the process of adopting;
    - Are a gay couple, or a gay individual, who have adopted;
    - Anyone who is touched by any of the circumstances described above.

    We understand that people may not be willing to disclose their identity, that is why they can testify anonymously about "Your Story" on our website. Just google "Irish Pink Adoption" to find us...

    Still, feel free to use this thread to voice your opinion on "pink" adoptions. (We know, some people don't like the term "pink"...)

    I wanted to thank all the people who came directly to us to testify.
    We would be happy to hear more testimonial on the topic, especially in the present context.

    Can you give more detail as to what exactly you are campaigning for?

    The objective of our presence on Boards.ie is to promote debate and discussions on adoption by "'pink" families.
    As a result we campaign for universal marriage: only married couples can adopt as a couple.
    As a result we campaign for the White Ribbon symbol to be used by all supporters of LGBT rights, and also of children's rights to have a married family.

    The HSE would be more than happy to allow same-gender couple to adopt if only they could get married.

    Marriage is the foundation of the family as defined by the Constitution, not in gender terms but in term of households. Civil Partnership only give us tax-payers rights.

    But our main role is not of campaigning but of support and information... that will still be needed once marriage finally comes to Ireland.

    I hope this clarify things. You can also find more info in our boards.ie profile.
