Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

External / dash-mountable speedometer?

Might be a silly question.. but has anyone ever seen an external speedometer (i.e one you can buy that you can mount to the dash)?

The reason I ask is when I sit in my car.. the steering wheel covers my view from 40km/h upwards. I've tried adjusting height and it doesn't make much odds as I'm as a comfortable height as is - as is the steering wheel (it's at it's highest).

My SatNav (TomTom One Classic) has a speedometer when I'm driving but I'd rather not keep that on.

Something like this but not as pricey obviously.. I was sure DealExtreme would be selling stuff like that but doesn't look like it!

    try adjusting the steering wheel.

most of them tilt up and down, and go in and out

As I said in my original post, it's at it's highest unfortunately.

In and out? Nah, this just goes up and down.. it's a 00 VW Polo, not a "fancy pancy" new fangled space car! :P

I'd have recommended a scangauge II, but theyre just as pricey as what you already posted. On the plus side it would do RPM, engine temp, trip computer too though.

    Cheers T83... but I wouldn't pay more than €20 - €30 tops for it.

Might be a case of leave the TomTom on full-time while I'm driving if i can't pick one up.
