Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Printing size question

    Hi,

I have some photos that I'd like printed.
The shots have mostly been cropped, so are not standard LxW if you know what I mean.. also, I don't want them printed at 100%, cos they'd be too big.

Never had anything printed before (other than in the diy booths at Boots etc)!
How do I go about getting them printed? Do I just leave it to the pros at the store, or do I work out a percentage size myself..

    Basically I haven't a clue

well if you give me a shout i can help you

i print from rolls so can basically print any size etc

there is a pricelist on my website

if you go to somehwere that only prints standard sizes

1 of 2 things will generally happen

    1. they will print on a standard size and leave white

    2. they will crop your image to fill the page

If you want to use a commercial printer like a photolab.. I would lay the photos out in Photoshop into a "standard size" and convert it to an sRGB color profile if that's not what it's already in.

By the layout, I mean take the image.. crop it how you want, then resample to the size you want (if necessary) and do your sharpening, then flatten and convert to the target color profile (sRGB is adequate for most printing needs, but not ideal.. get a custom color profile for the target if you can.) then add canvas space around the image to get to the next higher "standard" print size. (so if your image turns out to be 6.5" long and 4" high.. add canvas to create a 5x7" print with empty space around your photo.. or get fancy & choose a complementary color to the photo to act as kind of a "poor man's mat") then put it on your favorite media to get it printed.

Then you need to turn on signatures in your User CP - you must have them disabled.
