Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lads, I've heard of places in the UK that let you drive Gallardo's/360's etc on a track for renting out but does any of you know about getting to drive the GT-R?

Always wanted a drive in one of these on a track and trying to get some ideas for my upcoming 40th for her to spend some money on me.

Doesn't have to be in the UK..can be in Europe aswell.

22.86 euro a lap, pretty cheap if you consider -

    petrol
    Insurance
    Instructors wages
Cost of the GTR depreciated over 5-10 years
car wear and tear (those nitrogen filled tyres arent cheap or built for longevity!)
    The track other overheads

Its only 4 laps driving it.

Id rather go and give one a "good" test drive for free.

I remember a few years ago myself and my uncle went to test drive a new(demo) Celica (190bhp). He had bought from them before so they just gave him the keys. We returned over an hour later, we gave it some "test" drive I can tell you, Think we hit 130mph at one point. :D!!

I've done something similar to these in Mondello and you really don't get enough time behind the wheel in my opinion.

I paid (well twas a present) €250 for a few laps with an instructor in a Mazda 3 (not an MPS) and these about 10 laps in a single seater car. It was brilliant craic and I would recommend it if you don't think you wanna go more than once.

We bought a track car last year (myself and a mate) and went to Anglessey track in the UK. Between the car, the track day & the ferry it cost us €550 each and we still have the car to go again - Next time will only cost about €300 each as car obviously needed a service & new tyres.

To be fair there is no comparison in a GT-R & our track car (a xsara VTS) but I would personally be too nervous to thrash a seriously expensive car around a track compared to our inexpensive car. Also you will most likely have an instructor in the car who will probably limit the speed you can drive at. (To be fair to the lads in Mondello they were sound out and didn't try to slow me down but it was only a Mazda 3 after all)

    good man metalgear....that should do

to be honest, I don't want to be spending all day on a track with the missus with me..a few hours and to get to drive this car would be just enough.
