I wonder how many will be left after the season ticket holders and those with irfu 10yr tickets. Only looking to get two so I hope all the best seats are not gone.

According to Sinéad Kissane on Twitter:
Joe Schmidt said Brad Thorn is 'pretty keen' to join Leinster on short term deal. Should know in next week or so if agreement can be reached

According to LR, Dom Ryan and Kev McLoughlin look to be fit for Thursday. Conway and Fitzgerald more than likely are out and looking to be back next week. Berquist will be back "in the coming weeks" and Cullen in April.

If so I'd like to see:

    McGrath, Dundon, White, Browne, Toner, McLoughln, Jennings, Ruddock(Capt)/Auva'a;
Boss, Madigan, Carr, Macken/O'Shea, O'Malley, Kearney, Nacewa

Sexton, VDM, Hagan, Flanagan, Ryan/Auva'a, Cooney, Reid, Hudson

Reid plays/played 12 as well so he could be an option there. Kearney to drop down with the return of Earls. Some very inexperienced players look like they're going to have to play. Even so, wouldn't mind seeing Cooney given another extended shot after he disappointed earlier in the season.

It'll be good to see Ryan back.

    Why no Strauss?

I think they're delaying signing Brad Thorn until the end of next week so that a 3 month deal would expire after the Heineken Cup final.

Why no Struass? I'd have him in there. In fact my front row would be McGrath Strauss Hagan

Can't wait to see Dom Ryan back playing again. He has been very unlucky with injuries but if he can get a good run together now when the 6N matches are on, he could feature in the HC knock-out games.

I hope we see VDM at loosehead. McGrath needs games alright, but Italian scrums can be tough. I'd like to see VDM for the first 50 and McGrath for the last 30. And yes, definitely Strauss at hooker if he's fit.

Brilliant to have Dom Ryan back. According to Newstalk, Fitz might be back for Treviso and and if not then certainly next week.

Id start McGrath precisely because its an Italian scrum. He needs to be comfortable against then and I see no reason why he wouldn't be. VDM has been outscrummaged this year anyway by fairly average THs so we need to set the bar higher for him as well.

    Completely forgot Strauss! :/

Don't think well see Fitzgerald start anyway, it would be brilliant.

Probably. If he is released to the squad.

How often does he attend the training sessions? I presume this is to help him hit the ground running when he is eligible?

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,599 ✭✭✭✭CIARAN_BOYLE

Only Jennings released to Leinster, presume Kidney is holding onto EOM and D Kearney
    McGrath Struass Hagan
    Toner Browne
    McLaughlin Auva Jennings
    Boss Madigan
    Fitzgerald Macken
    Carr Nacewa Hudson
Wishful thinking I know regarding Fitzgerald, it will probably be some young academy lad

Apologies if this has been posted already, but you can get tickets for the Treviso game here for a fiver, enter FIVERFRIEND in the box on the left - http://www.ticketmaster.ie/event/18004706C61E2685?brand=ie_leinster&did=leinster

If you select more than one ticket the price goes up a bit but you can just order them one at a time which works out grand because north and south stands are unreserved seating.

I'd ask Rhys Ruddock to explain the photo and rumours surrounding him. If he's signed for another club I wouldn't waste any development game time on him and stick him in the A team for the remainder of his contract / just tell him to not even bother coming to training any more.

I'm sure the Leinster management have talked to him and know everything about the situation.

Has anyone got a link to that photo?

I'd assume he is talking about that one with the lads making the 'M' sign?

    Also, fairly harsh of Jackass.

Only when Dom Ryan and Kev McLaughlin have their match fitness back. Otherwise it's very counter productive.

I was just on LinkedIn earlier, did anyone know Jackman is defence coach at Grenoble?

That Mal O Kelly is an Orthopaedic Specialist

Or that Brian O Driscoll is a rugby player!

The photo of him sitting there with some Munster lads making an "M" sign after a speculative article appeared in the media about Munster wanting him? Off with his head....

If Ruddock signs for Munster, all the best to him. Hope he does well for Leinster for the rest of the season. Leinster can cope quite well without him given they've the first choice Irish 8 and a number of excellent blindsides that I'd rate ahead of Ruddock. If it improves him as a player and Irish rugby overall, best of luck to him.

If Leinster took the approach of freezing someone out who clearly laid their cards on the table a year in advance I'd take issue with it.
