Nope he's an absolute sucker for punishment.
If he wants to play then that's it.

My guess is sub vs Munster then starts vs Cardiff

I'm a lot more confident about our prospective away semi now I know BOD will be back.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,762 ✭✭✭✭molloyjh

Now can someone please tell Marcus Horan that if he even thinks about blindsiding BOD again there'll be a contract out on him or something!?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,592 ✭✭✭GerM

Bench Ospreys, start Munster, demolish Cardiff.

wow the usually predictable Pro D2 through up some wobblies that destroyed my accum: Tarbes and Aix both losing at home (was Beziers and Narbonnes first away wins of season)
And then add Castres only managing draw with Lyon at home- bad bad day at the office

EDIT: ****e, this isn't the Betting thread :D:D
I'm way to hungover to be near computer

I think it was payback for being absolutely creamed in the semi in Croker by BOD (which Healy was wrongly binned for). In seriousness though, I would debate if it was deliberate, and given Horans disciplinary record I would very much give him the benefit of the doubt (as I do with Hayes' stamp on Healys head - not Quinny on Leo though....), if something like that was intentional it's a discrace.

Personally I'd hold off on BOD to give him 40 minutes against Munster and start v Cardiff, but yes, it's a massive boost, coupled with Thorn and the return from injury of guys like Fitz, and the form of Kearney we could put together a big end of season.

My only concern is the toll the 6 nations is going to take on several Leinster players, but we're in a strong position with some big boosts to our season, we just need to manage it and bring our A game when need it, and anything is possible, but we're miles off anything yet, one game at a time, but it's in our hands and we can strive for perfection....

If you watch it again Horan clearly leads with the shoulder and put his weight into the hit. Never for a second had issue with Hayes' stamp. He couldn't see where Healy was and he's not that sort. But Horans hit on BOD was clearly intentional.

Anyway I reckon a 20 mins off the bench against Munster would be enough. We've seen him come back from injury before and not really need a warm up game. Was it the Wasps game in 08/09 that he came back and was in for almost immediately?

    BOD doesn't do the bench!

Would be great if both Wallace and BOD made it back (and through unscathed) for the Munster match.

He will if Joe tells him to.

I know what you mean though. If he's fit he starts. Would rather he not play a full 80 and would even be worried about more than 30 mins or so. We can afford to lose that game. There are more important matches to worry about. And if it does get as tight as it looks like it will in the last few rounds we may need him more then.

    God I wish he would.

We might keep him in the game for longer if he'd just sit out a few games

BOD with a 23 on his back would seem so unnatural.

Then again, we have so many versatile players Nacewa, McFadden, Fitz etc. having a specialist on the bench isn't as penalising as it would be for some teams.

    Fitz for Ireland anyone?

He's lacking gametime but it's worth a look into seeing as we're not getting the best out of Trimble.

It will probably be Mc Fadden in for Trimble but I can dream at least.

I know Kidney is unlikely to make changes but Trimble has been the weakest of the back 3. He puts in a good shift but he's failing to really make an impact on games for Ireland either.

Mc Fadden might be worth a punt.

I completely agree, I was just pointing out what I think will be the reality of the situation. Trimble has done little or nothing to hold onto his place.

Noone would do a better job than Trimble. I wouldn't blame him for not making an impact, the root of the problem goes far deeper.

Luke Fitzgerald was on iTalksport this morning. I don't remember him saying what was wrong with his recent neck arse injury though.

Paul Kimmage was mocking him about trying to get him to come off the fence!

He's a fairly polished operator in front of the camera and came across well.....just can't say anything of interest though!

Yep, he is fairly beige in interviews.

Them is the breaks of being a top sporting professional though. Anything you say will be torn apart and examined from every angle. The Leinster PR lads have him well trained.

Luke's always been a safe pair of hands in front of the media.. can trust him to hit all his bland points just like a great politician..

Winger doesn't get a pass. Gets criticised shock.

Would love to see him back but only when he's ready. Rushing back last time did him no favours, would rather see him get his mojo back w/Leinster first. To be fair to Trimble he's being playing well for Ulster it just seems to be the Irish set up that's stifling some players. I'd like to see Fitz in the 12 jersey for Leinster for a bit, because d'Arce is on his last season as an international IMO and I think Fitz creates a little bit of magic in the centre always

Poster on LF that has normally had the inside line for Leinster has stated that the Ospreys game has been identified as his return to action. QF start is looking very likely unless there are some hiccups.

    A month early, so?

Fitzgerald at 12 is an exciting idea but I think it would have to be done on a regular basis on the Pro12 before we see him there in the Heino or for Ireland. I would back him to do well there though. His defence is excellent

Not surprising if true, his recovery rate has always been of Wolverine proportions.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,169 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

If we're talking about moving Fitz from the wing then I'd prefer him to play at 13.

He can be lethal with a bit of extra space. I'd rather he stayed on the wing though.

Leinster A play Connacht A tomorrow week at Anglesea Road at 3pm as part of their preperation for their B&I cup semi against Munster
