Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

1997 Nissan Almera with brake problem

    im looking for advice ASAP!!!
I've a 97 almera. Recently passed NCT. Was driving 2days ago when scrapping noise could be heard from left front wheel. Noise has stopped since.

I believe it could be brake pad that needs to be changed. I would not be able to change myself so garage or advance my best option.

Any ideas on the price I should expect to pay? I know Advance will check for free, would a local garage? I dont want to spend too much on the car as its worth nothing anyway!

Any tips, advice or suggestions welcome. I'm in Kerry.

Likely to have been a stone or something else caught in the brake mechanism. If it was a worn pad, it wont go away or will soon be back if it did.

Front pads and changing on that car should be about €70 - €90 imo.

    Thanks

Do you think that newly laid tarmac on potholes would have done the noise?
