Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Big result for Toulouse being Stade Francais away 9-28. Racing Toulouse should be a great game in CC qf

No chance of any changes before the World Cup but if France lose to Italy this weekend I think it would be curtains for Brunel but for the timing of the championship.

Himself and Laporte pals obviously but still...

Think it would be an upset if Italy won even with France's form fairly ropey!

Italy haven't rolled over at home at all this year. They made us work for it and put Wales under pressure.

I think if they make a dog of the fixture they might turn France over given their current state.

I wouldn't be expecting it - but I'm not sure it would be a surprise either.

Forgot it's at home. Bookies have them at 5/2 for win so bit lower than I expected

Reminder that the Clermont - Pau game is live on Sky Sports this morning - kick off is at the early hour of 11.30 (Irish time). Toulouse - Lyon is also being shown live, ko at 15.40.

A group of us are flying over to watch Toulouse V Clermont. We booked it in January, but the match has been switched from Saturday to Sunday accommodate TV. We cannot change flights so we cannot attend the match.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a groups of 15 lads to do in Toulouse! We would love to rock up to a local club game and perch ourselves at the bar.

    Help would be appreciated.

Clermont v Racing is 31-31 with two minutes remaining. Racing have done well to bring the scoreboard level, but Clermont really should be a few scores ahead. They were so dominant for 50-60 minutes.

Racing get a last minute scrum pen just outside Clermont's 22.

    MACHENEUD MISSES!!!

FFR to pay former France head coach Guy Noves €1m for wrongful dismissal.

"The FFR alleged Noves was guilty of serious misconduct, but a Toulouse labour tribunal decided otherwise. Noves was asking for €2.88million.

Both parties have the right to appeal, although initial reactions suggested that they were happy with the outcome.

"I am satisfied with this decision. The FFR said there was serious misconduct and the tribunal said there was none," Noves, the first ever France coach to be sacked, told reporters.

Imagine going through all that just to replace him with Brunel who is doing a much worse job.

It looks as though Stu Olding may well be playing in Top 14 next season as Brive have finished top of Pro D2.

They've a home semi against Vannes or Mont de Marsan and if they win, a probable final against Oyonnax.

The winner will go straight up, the losers will have to play-off with Grenoble.

Even his wikipedia record doesn't realise that he's gone to C A Brive!

Excellent. A traditional rugby region back in the top tier.

At the other end of the spectrum Rouen promoted to D2. First ever pro rugby team in Normandie apparently.

Just turned on the match now, I thought it was highlights, the commentary is clearly not in the ground, reminds me of old Italian soccer commentary on a Monday night

It's unbelievable how much weight he's put on.

    He looks like a hooker.

We got a tight game now. Racing needing a converted try with 5 mins left.

That's a pretty miserable season for Racing then.
They'll be the team to avoid in Europe next season.

    LDA hosting a concert

Not even a concert, that’s tomorrow night, tonight they’re just prepping the ground for a concert.

An excellent win for the men from the Bay of Biscay. I like the La Rochelle brand of rugby, epitomised in that crazy first try that they scored - and their comprehensive stuffing of Bordeaux-Begles by something like 82 -12 last week was amazing.

I was interested to hear the commentators saying that ROG was rumoured to be heading to La Rochelle next season to replace Garbajosa.

(one thing that puzzled me was that the commentators pretended that they were at the game, although my understanding is that they watch it in a studio somewhere in the outskirts of London - can anyone confirm?)

Yes, I have my doubts that they are actually at the games. They never really mention anything which isn't on the same TV feed we see. If they were at the games they would see which subs were about to come on before they are shown on screen or they may make some reference to the weather or numbers of visiting fans around the ground before the game but they never do.

really, I wouldnt mind them in Leinsters group, they are crap.

By the time next season comes around Zebo will be doing advertisements for Michelin.

    Hardly on box?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 525 ✭✭✭Jupiter Mulligan

A poorly reffed game played in 30 degrees heat, saw Lyon over 30's beat Vern Cotter's Montpellier 'boks by 21 - 16. I can't see them troubling Clermont in the semi-final next week.

Later today, Brive will take on Grenoble in the Top 14 access game. KO is at 14.15 Irish time and the game can be followed here: https://www.lnr.fr/matchs/02-06-19-brive-grenoble

Scholes (15) and Olding (12) both start for CA Brive.

    Final Score: Brive 28 - 22 Grenoble.

Commiserations and best wishes to Grenoble's Duncan Casey whose last ever professional game was today.

Brive are promoted. Let's hope that Olding's Top 14 career lasts a bit longer than Jacko's did!

Toulouse v La Rochelle should be a cracker. I'm a fan of both teams, but will probably shout for La Rochelle.

Unless I'm missing something, "live" coverage of tonight's game on Sky Sports Arena starts at 21.00 so will cover only the second half.

Second half on Sky Sports Arena - I think TV5 are also showing all the Top 14 playoffs with French commentary.

He didn't raise a hand coming off there. Can't read into it too much but I'm concerned for the guy, I hope it's just a bit of a stun.

As they joined the second half, I heard the presenter mention that the first half had been on the red button.

Thanks for nothing Sky Sports!
