Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't believe this, Bayonne have drawn. That might seal Perpignan's fate.

No BP for Clermont, great result for Toulon and Montpellier!

3 teams on 50 points! Madness!

Oyonnax are now ahead of Perpignan on the table on lnr.fr

Rugbyrama have Oyonnax ahead. It's head to head aggregate right? If so Oyonnax ahead.
The only aggregate that Perpignan are ahead in is points scored (464 vs 439). They are level on points difference! (-104).
3 teams on 50 points! Madness!

I don't know what rugbyrama and LNR are up to but this is the rules:

If teams are level at any stage, tiebreakers are applied in the following order:
    1. Competition points earned in head-to-head matches
    2. Points difference in head-to-head matches
    3. Try differential in head-to-head matches
    4. Points difference in all matches
    5. Try differential in all matches
    6. Points scored in all matches
    7. Tries scored in all matches
    8. Fewer matches forfeited'
    9. Classification in the previous Top 14 season

Actually LNR got it right => http://www.lnr.fr/classement-top-14-2013-2014.html.

    Head to head results:

    Oyonnax-Perpignan : 22(1T)-9 -- 12-22(1T)
    Bayonne-Perpignan : 31(3T)-20(1T) -- 8(1T)-20(2T)
    Bayonne-Oyonnax : 39(4T)-11(1T) -- 6-9

    So in case of tiebreakers:
    • Oyonnax is ahead of Perpignan.
    • Perpignan is ahead of Bayonne.
    • Bayonne is ahead of Oyonnax.

If the 3 are level then it's
    1. Bayonne 10 pts (+24, 8T)
    2. Perpignan 8 pts (-2, 4T)
    3. Oyonnax 8 pts (-22, 2T)

    GW 26:

    Bayonne-Castres
    Clermont-Perpignan
    Brive-Oyonnax

Smells like sh*t for USAP :(...

It's just crazy! It's been an incredible season in the top 14. And it all comes down to the last weekend. Hope there are some of these matches on tv.

Danie Roussow will retire at the end of the season, a bit of extra motivation for the run-in for him to add the Top 14 to the World Cup, Tri-Nations, Super Rugby and Heineken Cup medals. Not a bad haul.

Edit: Wikipedia tells me he also has three Currie Cups and a Japanese league title. Wow. And of course a series win over the Lions.

Is he the most decorated player in the pro-era? That's a Brad Thorn-esque collection of honours.

    5 pts for the LBP.
1 match ban after 3 YC.
1 strictly controlled minute for kicking a penalty/conversion.
Cash compensation to clubs providing players to the French (only?) team.

And they call it the New Deal ? Well. Sounds more like a compromise to please some of Boudjelal and Novès ire...

Fascinating to see how the within 5 points for a LBP influences matches.

Yeah. It would be interesting to see what changes it'll make to this year's rankings.

Have to say France are always ahead of points scoring changes recently. 3 tries diff for the TBP, now 7 pts margin reduced to 5 for the LBP. Don't yet know if this will be good or bad though.

Murray Kinsella reporting that clubs will have to play 12 JIFF players in each match day 23 next season, rising to 14 players in 2015/16.

Do Racing have to beat Montpellier to make sure of qualifying?

No, I think they're ok for the playoffs.

The bottom of the table is going to be interesting. Three teams on equal points trying to avoid one relegation spot.

Realised I got it wrong here.

If the 3 are level then it's
    1. Bayonne 10 pts (+24, 8T)
    2. Perpignan 8 pts (-2, 4T)
    3. Oyonnax 8 pts (-22, 2T)
    so Bayonne is safe.

But then they look at the head-to-head between Oyonnax and Perpignan, which goes in favour of Oyonnax.
They don't scroll down the tiebreakers with the 3 teams like I did (that would only be the case if they were level on the amount of points scored between each other).

Do Racing have to beat Montpellier to make sure of qualifying?

No they're both qualified. Shall Montpellier win they'll secure a semi-final spot (a draw would do it also if Clermont does not get the TBP). Shall Racing win they could get a semi-final spot or at least get the home 1/4 final.

For those fancy dans with the multichannel, Setanta Ireland is showing Montpellier v Racing and TV5 is showing Toulon v Stade.

Anyone else watching the 'multiplex'? I have no idea how it will work.

Ive the Clermont game on ESPN.

Toulon - Stade Francais has been good so far in Nice: 3-0 to Toulon.

  • Registered Users Posts: 740 ✭✭✭damianmcr

    Fantastic try by Perpignan.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

And Peroignan lead Clermont 13-10. Clermont would want to get going.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Bonneval goes under the posts after Stade pounce on a loose offload by Habana, set to be 3-10 to Stade Francais!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,681 ✭✭✭✭P_1

Malzieu is a very lucky chap to only get a yellow for throwing a punch in the Michelin.

    Clermont 13 USAP 13

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Clermont are down to 13 now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 740 ✭✭✭damianmcr

Clermont need to lose the streak!

Against 13 men and they go for the posts, not sure if that's the best decision.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,681 ✭✭✭✭P_1

And now a yellow for Sivivatu for something not too dissimilar to what Brock James got one for last week. Clermont with no wingers for the next while.

Is there some site that gives live score updates for the T14?

On the right hand side, there's a list of all the matches (Direct/Multiplex) and their scores; click on the game you're interested in and it opens the match tracker for that game.

Stade win would be a massive shock too. As it stands Castres miss the playoffs.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Hook misses in front of the posts on the 22!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Terrible from Zirkashvili, 3 points handed to Perpignan.

Edit: Hook missed it! A sitter!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Meanwhile Montpellier are murdering Racing 28-3 and are headed for a semi final. Racing were in great form before this match.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

No mistake from Hook this time: 16-19

Another Montpellier try. What a way to go into the playoffs! We might have a new favourite as they lead 37-3.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Red card for Konstanin Mikautadze. Toulon are currently leading 11-10.

If Clermont win and Toulon don't then Clermont will take Toulon's semi-final spot.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Konstantin Mikautadze, that is plain stupid. Kicks a player on the ground in plain sight, and it's a red card.

So as things stand, Oyonnax are for the drop...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

    22-22 in Clermont!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Castres are in real trouble. Just conceded a break away try and they're down 20-6.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

Mjekevu sinbinned for taking out Parra in the air. Not a lot in it. This could be a turning point.

Bayonne 14 ahead (pretty much safe)
    Oyonnax 19-3 down at Brive
Perpignan drawing at Clermont but without their winger for 10 minutes

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,591 ✭✭✭Tristram

    Crazy call against Perpignan.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,805 ✭✭✭Swan Curry

Absolutely ridiculous call, soon it will be impossible to contest a high ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,599 ✭✭✭matthew8

Oyonnax in masssive trouble! 19-3 down, if they can't get a BP Perpignan and Bayonne only need one.

Toulouse and Montpellier continue to run riot. I really think Montpellier will win the Top 14 now.
