Clermont did well to hold out there. But why didn't rouguerIe kick it off the field?!?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,242 ✭✭✭crisco10

Not surprisingly, game has gotten nervy. Game between 10 yard lines mainly as both teams wait for the other blink.

Not the nicest time to be playing this amount of rugby...

    What a drop goal

    Some hit.

    What a drop goal

That looks like it could win it for Clermont. Racing making errors.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,242 ✭✭✭crisco10

    Outrageous.

Hopefully. At first look, look like he had lowered into the contact.

    Edit: looks reckless in replay.

These errors are unforgivable from Racing.

Completely. Thats 2 crooked throws and at least one loss for the racing sub hooker.

Clermont getting away with murder in defense :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,242 ✭✭✭crisco10

James will be thanking his lucky stars for that racing fumble.

    OMG

    Unbelievable passage of play.
Looked offside for the second interception though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

    That was just bazare!

    Try for me anyway

What a brilliant try and conversion.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

Surely Clermont were off side there.

That's the worst choke I've ever seen.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

I have never ever seen a finish like that. Incredible stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

    That was nuts

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,242 ✭✭✭crisco10

What a game. Clermont threw it away though chasing the try they didn't need off fofanas intercept.

That game made my Friday evening.

Brock James hero and villan within a few minutes. Great dg then misses touch from a penalty. Exciting stuff all the same.

Montpellier just got back into this second semi final with an intercept try.

24-18 to Toulon with 19 mins left

    A brilliant game.

Can't say the same about the other semi. Toulon dominated us and controlled the game. We had 5 min of "rebellion" but White management showed its limitations and we physically lost the battle. So the whole Trinh-Duc affair and "cheap" farewell for that season ending ?

On paper, it's a great season. Back to the top14 semis and winner of the European Challenge. But when I look at it in detail, there's a couple of things that make me nauseous...

    Racing:

    Dulin ; Rokocoko, Goosen, Chavancy, Imhoff ; (o) Carter, (m) Machenaud ;
Nyanga, Masoe, Lauret ; Carizza, Le Roux ; Tameifuna, Szarzewski (cap), Ben Arous.

Chat, Vartanov, Kruger, Claassen, Chauveau, Andreu, Vulivuli, Ducalcon.

    Toulon:

    Halfpenny ; Tuisova, Bastareaud, Mermoz, Habana ; (o) Giteau, (m) Pelissié;
Fernandez Lobbe, S. Armitage, Gorgodze ; Mikautadze, Manoa ; Chilachava, Guirado, Chiocci.

Orioli, Fresia, R. Taofifénua, Bruni, Belan, D. Armitage, Michalak, Saulo.

This should be a bone cruncher as the Top14 final will break the rugby attendance record in Barcelona.
Fun fact: 4 of Toulon benchers will be playing for Lyon next season.

If, like myself you do not have Sky TV. the final is being shown on TV5 MONDE free to view.
Go to your international section. Should be channel 796. (Although that might be different on your type of freesat box.)

    Nou Camp looks great.

    Blazers looking good.

For those without Sky Sports this is on TV5.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Machenaud could be in real trouble here. Possible red card if he came down on shoulder.

EDIT: Lifts him, inverts him and brings him down on upper body. I expect a yellow but definitely see reds for this.

Personally think that's a terrible decision.

Yellow max. I actually think giteax Ducks into it at the very last moment

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,463 ✭✭✭Kiwi_knock

Agree with that. Hard to see Racing having much of a chance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,616 ✭✭✭✭errlloyd

    Game over.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

    Red card. Totally fair enough.

Game over. Racing's season done at the last hurdle by a completely sloppy and reckless tackle.

Brave and correct decision by the referee. Giteau came down on the top of his spine.

How many teams have to win (or at least go close) with 14 men before people stop saying a red is game over?

Statistically it's 5 points for every 10 mins on the clock.

But they're also getting destroyed in the scrum. And toulon have HP

It's a turn of phrase. The referee hardly blows the final whistle but it's undeniable that it puts the team at a massive disadvantage that usually causes the team to lose.

It's a big blow but you see teams with an early red win or go close all the time. Even underdogs.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Can't believe that Racing haven't brought on a scrum half.
