Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

the start of the improbable treble for the spurs. If we get 3 points from the next 3 games i will be ecstatic. My verdict. I will be switching over at half time in despair

    Massive game for both teams.

Spurs have to win to maintain the challange for 4th and Arsenal for any chance of winning the league (although I do feel Chelsea have it!).

Van Persie back for Arsenal is a big boost and I am hoping that and the fact we can go second if we win will edge it for us. Could be a classic then again it could be a dire 0-0 as well.

Hehe yeah I've a feeling it will be something like that. Will we beat Arsenal for the first time since the Premiership started and keep pushing for 4th spot or will we fold after an extended and depressing match on Sunday? It will be an interesting match anyway and is unlikely to finish 0 - 0 like last years match.

Hoping Arsenal get the 3 pts to widen the gap between us (city) and spurs:)

    C'mon Arsenal...

Think Wenger can smell Ferguson's blood and would be chuffed to finish ahead of them, oooooohhhhh, the excitement:D
Making for a terrific closing to the season!!

if he doesn't also finish ahead of Ancelotti, deep down, he won't really care.

    i fancy an Arsenal win.

i know Arsenal are missing a ridiculous amount of their big players, but Spurs are coming off a bad loss at Wembley, and have looked tired and toothless for the last couple of games.

Redknapp has a big challenge to get them up physically and mentally ready for this North London derby.

Bendtner to make the difference. f*ck yeah!

    3-2 Arsenal.

I think it'll be an Arsenal win, although it will be a close game. I think Spurs will miss Palacios and that should swing things in Arsenal's favour.

    Almunia

    Sagna
    Campbell
    Verm
    Clichy

    Diaby----Denilson---Nasri

    Walcott
    Rosicky

    Bendtner

Gonna be a tough game, Spurs being dragged through that experience on Sunday won't have helped their morale and we haven't played since last Tuesday so we should be fresh.

    1-1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Both teams need the 3 points, I can see Arsenal dominating but only managing a draw, 2 - 2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,346 ✭✭✭ErinGoBrath

I'd be a lot more confident about an Arsenal win here if Song was playing but unfortuately he's out.

Arsenal should have the advantage of fresh legs so hopefully we can grab an early goal and have Spurs chasing the game.

Looking forward to RvP's cameo appearance.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,934 ✭✭✭Paleface

Arsenal's desire to keep the pressure on Chelsea should be reason enough to put in a good performance tonight and get a hard fought win at White Hart Lane.

Having not played since last Tuesday they should be fresher than Spurs who had to play extra time on Sunday.

Song is a loss but Sol coming back in is a boost. He needs no motivation for this fixture.

    Arsenal to sneak it 2-1.

That's the team I think will start. I'd rather see Eboue start ahead of Walcott and let Walcott loose on Spurs for the last 20 along with RVP.

Yeah its a big miss when you play a team like Arsenal. Breaks up the play really well. I didn't know he was out. Injured?

Arseblog thinks the same this morning and I'd have to agree as Spurs will definitely tire more as the game goes on.

Hoping for a Spurs win (to keep Arsenal at bay obviously but also as they're my preferred choice for 4th). But realistically, they seem to have run out of steam the last couple of games, as I suspected they would. Arsenal's injuries eves it up somewhat but I can still see them being too strong.

Me too - but I think he will.

For me it'd be a big chance to leave Walcott v Bale as I think Bale's delivery to Crouch/Pavlyuchenko will be more dangerous to Arsenal than Walcott's delivery behind the goal/over Bendtner's head will be to Spurs.

    It's on skysports 1 at 8 I think

Big match today we really have to show some balls and step up tonight we need three points and we need to end our brutal league record v Arsenal.

I think it'll be a draw to be honest but i'm hoping for a big home win:cool:
    (By big i'll take a scrappy 1-0)

Come on Arsenal!! Hurts me to say that as a United fan, but I'd prefer Arsenal than Chelsea :pac:

Although I wouldn't mind another 4 - 4 feast. I hope Phil Thompson is watching if that happens :p

    STARTING XI - Gomes;
    Kaboul, Dawson, King, Assou-Ekotto;
    Rose, Huddlestone, Modric, Bale;
    Defoe, Pavlyuchenko.

SUBS - Alnwick, Bassong, K Walker, Bentley, Livermore, Crouch, Gudjohnsen.

Think this is rose's first League start Difficult game to start in

I reckon Crouch played the full 120 last week to give Pav and Defoe a bit of a rest

Think it's more a case of battle for second place, so you'd be better off going for Spurs!

Chelsea have it in the bag :p

Come on the Spurs! I expect Bale to put in another outstanding performance. hopefully Rose can do well too. I feel we have it in us to beat them, despite the bad weekend loss.

I don't think you can really blame Almunia for that, he got a good punch on it, it was almost impossible to score from there, he hardly had time to get back up before it was passing him on the way back into the net.
