"How big is a billion? If a billion kids made a human tower, they would stand up past the moon. If you sat down to count from one to one billion, you would be counting for 95 years. If you found a goldfish bowl large enough hold a billion goldfish, it would be as big as a stadium."

A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.
A billion hours ago our ancestors were living in the Stone Age.

Is it true a billion can be either a thousand million or a million million depending on uk or american standards?
Obviously the thousand million is the one used.

Yeah, though apparently both use the thousand million nowadays

Always counted it as a thousand million myself

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

the best way to conceptualise a billion is that if you covered croke park
in lottery tickets to a depth of three times the great wall of china as far
as the moon it would take 68 446.27 years for every man woman and
child in ireland two and a half times around the earth.

It was an edit job by Biko.

The original article was like a mix between timeshare and a 24 hour Dail-athon.
