    Hi everybody !

Im hoping to move out of my parents place this year after 22 years :D

Im looking to rent a 2 bedroom apartment somewhere around tallaght, dublin or even east kildare....(starting new job soon, 24k salary)

Ive been looking on various property sites and wondering are these prices negotiable ? The cheapest I could find would be €750+

And of course there are the other costs involved : Bills, maintenance... anything else ?

    Thanks for your help

Tyrant where will you be working? You seem to have a very large search area... and ofcourse the rent prices are negotiable!

750 is a fairly big chunk of your monthly salary OP.

24k works out at ~1800 a month after tax, so it's over 40% of your monthly take home!

Most people on a salary of that range would be renting in a house/apartment share in close proximity to work/play. It would work out about half of what the 2 bed place would go for.

    In terms of other expense:

    - electricity
    - ntl
    - possibly gas
    - possibly telephone
    - possibly internet

Relax. He's not moving out for another 22 years. He might be earning more by then.
