Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. Sad But True
    Harvester Of Sorrow

If they don't play Enter Sandman, Whiskey in The Jar, Seek & f**king Destroy, For Whom The Bell Tolls, or Creeping Death, I might go and see them.

Rehashing the same auld stuff year after year. "Die! Die! Die!". I'm 37 almost, and the Die! Die! chants got old for me in 1995 or thereabouts. I've seen them play these live a few times, I've seen countless live videos of them playing those live. Again and again and again.

Getting the fans to pick the setlists could turn out to be a really good thing. Or not.

My setlist in no particular order:

    Jump in the fire
    Ride the Lightning
    Blitzkrieg
    Disposable Heroes
    Frayed Ends of Sanity
    Shortest Straw
    2X4
    Bleeding Me
    Frantic
    Of Wolf and Man
    Helpless
    The Wait (or Loverman)
    Unforgiven 2
    Until it Sleeps
    Low Man's Lyric
    The Outlaw Torn

Ok, maybe not Low Man's Lyric. Maybe Mama Said, one of their "quieter ones". I could think of a few more covers to put in, but best to keep it to their own ones. ;)

I'd love to hear Mama Said live, but don't think it would suit a big outdoor gig? On the subject of covers, I think "Turn The Page" would sound good?

Was that the second Marlay Park gig? Wasn't at it.......was there in '08.......NOT a good venue(imo).

Crash Course in Brain Surgery, The Prince or Helpless would sound great too

That was actually one of my favourite set lists. We got blackened as the opener and got DM tunes like All Nightmare Long. I was front row that night though so may be biased

2 new dates added to Metallica's trek next summer

June 9, 2014 - Pinkpop Festival - Landgraaf, Netherlands, tickets on sale March 15, 2014
July 3, 2014 - Rock Werchter - Werchter, Belgium, tickets on sale December 7, 2014 (i think tickets on sale December 7, 2014 is an error)

    Metallica confirmed for Sonisphere 2014

Might be able to get to the knebworth leg of sonisphere pending upcoming results-the father really knows how to motivate me to study-
hope some good bands are backing them up there as well

According to www.kerrang.com, looks like Sonisphere will be their only UK show this year?? Hope this doesn't include us?

  • Registered Users Posts: 107 ✭✭Mattyz69

the last time i seen Tallica was a few years back and they played 'No Leaf Clover' one of my fav songs and to hear it without the symphony was great, def that would be one of my choices for them to play again

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,175 ✭✭✭StaticAge11

I would love to hear I Disappear. Love the arrangement they do for it live!

Thinking of heading to sonisphere. Might just do the Metallica day but line up depending I may do the full thing!
